During her interview with Fox News Channel personality Bret Baier, one that went less than well for her given that Baier was a semi-hostile interviewer, unlike the friendly interviewers the past softball interviews she has done. At one point, she even started yelling about “democracy” as a way of attacking the former president.
As background, what appeared to spark her anger and vitriol were comments from former President Donald Trump to Fox Business personality Maria Bartiromo about “the enemy within” in America, saying, “I think the bigger problem are the people from within. We have some very bad people. We have some sick people, radical left lunatics.”
Continuing, the former president told Bartiromo that, in some cases, the military might have to deal with those enemies from within, likely referring to riots of the sort seen in 2020. He said, “I think it should be very easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen.”
Harris, of course, freaked out about those comments, having a bit of a berserk melt down in which she yelled about “democracy” and tried to make the former president sound like the works form of dictator. She began by saying, “He has talked about turning the American military on American people.”
Continuing, she insisted that Trump is the one who wants to punish people for speech he finds disagreeable, ignoring her own running mate’s position on “misinformation” and “hate speech.” She said, “He has talked about going after people who are engaged in peaceful protest. He has talked about locking people up because they disagree with him.”
Concluding that rant, Harris did the usual thing the Democrats do and started yelling about “democracy” instead of anything substantive, saying, “This is a democracy. The president of the United States… should be willing to be able to handle criticism without saying he’d lock people up.” Watch her here:
As might be expected, Kamala was toasted for the comments. The Trump War Room X (formerly Twitter) account, for example, said, “Kamala — screaming — has completely cracked under the pressure of the first non-softball interview of her vice presidency. This is an unmitigated disaster for her. Humiliating.”
Agreeing, one commenter on that post said, “This interview is just a tiny glimpse into Kamala when she is actually pressed on her answers. This is only 30 minutes and she is about to explode. She is not capable of being the leader of the free world. Yelling and gaslighting will not work with our allies and our enemies.”
Another commenter described the incident as an “utter disaster,” writing, “Her voice is going from a condescending high-pitch, to yelling, to tripping over her words. It’s a total and utter disaster.” On a different note, another commenter pointed to the social media censorship pushed by the Biden-Harris administration, saying, “She and Biden literally censored people for criticizing the government. And locked up peaceful protestors.”
