WATCH: Joy Reid Goes on Lengthy Tirade about Thanksgiving

MSNBC host Joy Reid recently went on an angry rant about Thanksgiving, which was undoubtedly tense for many families who were divided politically.  During a recent segment of “The Reid Out”, the host went on a roughly 10-minute tirade, delivering “a Thanksgiving message to the MAGA trolls,” lashing out at Republicans after President-elect Donald Trump’s decisive victory in the election.

“These are the people who say the undocumented, who they get to call illegal immigrants, like the pilgrims, had permission to come here have to suffer the consequences of their actions. Right?” Reid said during one portion of her rant, slamming the desire for the United States to enforce its border.  “They made the choice to overstay their visas or come into our country illegally, so if they get deported, consequences,” she continued, mocking their rhetoric.

Reid continued sounding off on conservative values, stating, “But you right wingers shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of your votes. You don’t want to be around me because I voted for fascism. No fair. I am coughing on you with COVID, but you want me to wear a mask for your safety? No fair, my body, my choice.”

The MSNBC personality then suggested that Republicans should leave liberals alone this Thanksgiving.  “Well, here’s an alternative thought. Make your own dinner, MAGA, make your own sandwiches, wipe your own tears, troll amongst yourselves with Elon and leave us alone.” She added, “You got your heart’s desire the president you dreamed of and worship instead of Jesus, and this time you didn’t even have to storm the Capitol, smash the windows or try to kill police officers or issue death threats to court orders see you did it just by voting this time.”

“Congrats, you got your way, and he even got away with breaking the law,” Reid asserted. She noted that the millions of Kamala Harris supporters should not be forced to eat with Republicans this year.  “But if you expect the 73 million who voted for the prosecutor, not the felon, and particularly the 92% of black women who voted for Kamala to give you a cookie for your vote, a trophy hug, I thought you might be asking too much, if we want to eat with you we will,” he said.

Reid concluded that for some liberals who are unable to move on from the results of the election, this year they might want to abstain from interacting with people across the aisle. “But if we just want some peace over the holidays and we don’t want to put up with your trolling but we get on to fricking, get over it. Stop acting like we owe you, and for God sakes, stop whining. It’s embarrassing. Our Thanksgiving, our choice,” she said.

Users on social media reacted to Reid’s commentary, disagreeing with her assertion that conservatives are the ones whining.  “We aren’t whining. We are celebrating. The liberals are the ones whining, shaving their heads and want to leave the US. We aren’t the ones pushing the Kamala voters away on Thanksgiving. They’re pushing Trump supporters away, family members. She is hugely projecting,” one person said.
