Country music star John Rich recently praised Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a major shout-out during a recent Big and Rich live concert. Rich has made it a point to use his platform as a highly respected musician in the country music genre to comment on the state of American society from both a religious and political perspective.
During his remarks on stage, Rich noted the increasing apparent decline that the nation is “going to hell in a handbasket,” which he partly blamed on the woke, progressive attorney generals across the country. However, he maintained that Ken Paxton’s leadership in Texas is a perfect example for other officials around the nation.
Rich pointed out the decline observed across the nation, stating, “We all wonder why America’s going to hell in a handbasket because of these attorney generals that won’t stand up and do something about it.” However, he also illustrated how things are done differently in Texas, continuing, “But I got to tell you, down in the great state of Texas, they got a boy down there now he’s raising hell.”
The country singer and guitar player applauded Paxton for his reputation of conservative leadership in the Lone Star State. “He ain’t pushing at all. He’s he’s taking it all and pushing it right back in their face. Attorney General Ken Paxton, put your hands together.” Rich further expressed confidence that former President Donald Trump would win the upcoming election. “I’d like to see Donald Trump, when he becomes president. What is the matter with you people?” he said, appearing frustrated with the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd.
Rich has also made headlines over the recent release of his newest song, “Revelation,” inspired by the final book of the New Testament. The Christian Tribune reported on comments from Rich explaining the motivations behind the spiritual song based on the sobering writings of Saint John that simultaneously address warning and redemption.
During an interview with Mike Slater, host of Breitbart News Daily on Sirius XM Patriot 125, Rich stated, “I wanted this song to come out now in the middle of 2024 as I believe a lot of people are starting to turn back to the Book, to the pages of the Bible to try to find some type of answer, some type of real truth.” Now more than ever, Rich believes the world needs to turn to the truth of Scripture.
“It is the only perfect truth — what’s written in those pages. It’s not what you say, not what I say, not what the press says, it’s not what your preacher says. It’s what the Books says. So this song is what the Book says,” he added, emphasizing the personal importance of reading the word of God firsthand. Rich wrote the song with the priority of conveying an all-important message over creating a chart-topping work.
However, “Revelation” has outperformed expectations, jumping to the top of the iTunes country chart during its very first week of release. Moreover, the faith-based song also sat at the number two spot out of all genres on the iTunes store among various other secular tunes. Watch Rich’s live commentary on AG Ken Paxton below:
