Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) went absolutely bananas on Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed during an interview with the media, after being asked if he would give him his endorsement for the seat. Fetterman has earned a reputation as being a more open-minded Democrat who is genuinely interested in working alongside Republicans to improve conditions for the American people, though that desire has oftentimes put him at odds with his colleagues.
“I don’t think he’s really interested in my endorsement,” Fetterman told a reporter. “He’s called me an ogre, and I belong on a pike, right? Pike. So he has a real little man syndrome thing. Maybe if he wins and he’s here, he’ll be that kind of a tough guy. But overall, I would investigate why he seems eager to campaign with Hasan Piker, and he loves the communists, and he loved Hamas. Is that a winning ticket?”
Piker is a popular and controversial radical left-wing streamer who has said some really alarming things in the past. He once said, “I’m a lesser evil voter and therefore, I would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time.” It’s a sentiment he has shared on several occasions. He has also referred to Israelis as being “inbred” and “psychopaths,” though he stated later that he regretted using the term “inbred.”
According to a report from The Hill, Fetterman also sarcastically pressed El-Sayed to keep campaigning with Piker. “And now, El-Sayed, he just — he just won, you know. And I just want to issue a dare, continue to campaign with Hasan Piker right now. You’re in a general election now, I dare you, I dare you,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“Keep campaigning with someone like Hasan Piker. You know, if I was a Republican, I would just dump $20 million for ads,” he continued. El-Sayed is a radical progressive who beat Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI), a moderate, in a tense primary race to become the Democratic Party nominee in the Senate race. He will now face off against former Congressman Mike Rogers for the seat in November.
El-Sayed’s victory was a huge blow to the Democratic Party establishment, which had thrown its support behind Stevens. His win comes as other radical leftists have also been beating incumbents in tense primaries across the country. In New York City, three members of the Democratic Socialists of America defeated three sitting Democrats. All three were backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani, also a member of the DSA.

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social where he commented on El-Sayed’s victory and pointed out one area where they are in agreement with one another. “Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants to terminate the Filibuster, and so do I — At least we have something in common!” El-Sayed released a statement of his own concerning his primary victory on social media platform X.
Trump wants to end the filibuster in order to create a path for passing the SAVE America Act, which is a new piece of legislation that would provide much needed protection for federal elections. If passed, it would require those who are registering to vote to provide a birth certificate or passport to verify citizenship, while also requiring a photo ID to cast a ballot at the polls.
