Though he hasn’t yet decided to openly leave the Democratic Party and fully support making Pennsylvania great again alongside MAGA, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) did make a surprise video appearance at the RNC in Dallas on the night of Wednesday, September 9, doing so to announce his support for Trump and the Republican Senator in the Keystone State, Dave McCormick.
As background, Fetterman has now said repeatedly that he doesn’t plan on leaving the Democratic Party, yet he has repeatedly made it clear that he is not on the side of the radical socialists and their ilk, and instead is much more closely aligned with MAGA and its preferred policies, particularly regarding reindustrialization of the Rust Belt.
Such is what he did when speaking to the packed room of Republicans in a video message, making his support for Trump and Sen. McCormick open, something sure to cause a total conniption for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the other party bosses that try to enforce total uniformity from the elected members of their party, something Republicans struggle with.
Beginning the video message, Senator Fetterman tried to separate himself from the rest of his part, which is increasingly drifting in a far-left, socialistic direction. He said, “A big room of Republicans in Dallas. Yes, I’m Senator John Fetterman, Pennsylvania. Yes, I’m a Democrat. Why am I here talking to you today? Because, well, I’m a common sense Democrat.”
Continuing, he made his support for the American way of life rather than the radical socialism that the Democratic Party increasingly seems to support clear, saying that he would reject that radical leftism that his party is embracing. “I’m always going to stand with America. I’m always going to reject the extremes in socialism and that anti-American way of life,” he said.
That’s when he came out in support of Senator McCormick, saying that he considers his fellow Pennsylvania senator a friend. He told the watching audience, “Dave McCormick is the kind of senator that gets the job done, and he’s going to fight for Pennsylvania. I’m proud to count him as my friend.”
Building on that, he commented on the Rust Belt and the need to reinvest in the steel industry, a point with which much of MAGA agrees, saying that he wants to work with Trump and Republicans to defend and support the steel industry. He said, “Right back over my shoulder. That’s the iconic U.S. Steel Mill, and that’s exactly the kind of thing that will work together and will work with President Trump to fight and defend the steel way of life right here in the Steele Valley.”

Concluding the video, Sen. Fetterman again praised Sen. McCormick, telling the crowd, “I have this opportunity to introduce this great American, a great senator, and yes, he’s in a different party, but I’m proud to count him as my great friend. So for everybody in Dallas, I’m here to introduce Dave McCormick.”
