WATCH: Joe Biden Appears Confused When Asked About his State of the Union Address, Mayor Forced to Step In

Recently, Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities have been the subject of intense scrutiny amid countless public mishaps.  Most recently, the president was filmed walking around in a seemingly confused manner when the press questioned him about his State of the Union address.

Video uploaded to X by RNC Research shows Biden mumbling incoherently and appearing not to understand what the reporter was asking him when Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass had to step in and answer on behalf of Biden.  Reportedly, the president’s staff then removed the press from the room.

As such incidents have become commonplace, users in the comments section noted how unsurprising the “Confused Biden” routine is. Others noted how everyone is essentially “pretending” that the president is mentally and physically capable.

“Ah, the classic “Confused Biden” routine, now featuring a cameo by LA Mayor Karen Bass as the impromptu ventriloquist. And for the grand finale, Biden’s handlers play their favorite game: “Hide and Seek” with the press. Who knew the White House had such a flair for improv comedy?” one person wrote.

“Imagine being one of those people in the room where every single person deep down knows exactly what is happening and has been happening to this man but every single person pretending as if it weren’t. While most of the country and the rest of the world knows exactly the deal,” another person commented.

The American Tribune also reported on a recent incident where Biden stumbled, struggling to ascend the stairs of Air Force One, further calling into question the 81-year-old’s physical capabilities.  However, this isn’t the first time he has had trouble boarding the presidential plane.

As the past few years have been filled with similar incidents where Biden has displayed concerning behavior, the American public has developed justified reservations about the president’s capabilities.  These concerns were recently justified by an official report from Special Counsel Robert Hur, which determined Biden was not responsible for mishandling classified information in part due to his age and memory.

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” the report states. “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt.”

According to the report, Biden demonstrated trouble recalling details about the time he spent as Vice President in the Obama Administration as well as the events surrounding the death of his son Beau.  “There’s even reference that I don’t remember when my son died. How in the hell dare he raise that. Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself: ‘wasn’t any of their damn business,’” Biden stated.  “Frankly, when I was asked a question I talked to myself was it any of their damn business?”
