Rep. Jim Jordan used his position on the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government to humiliate Rep. Daniel S. Goldman (D-NY), formerly the lead impeachment counsel working for Rep. Adam Schiff. Rep. Jordan did so on Thursday during a hearing of the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.
Goldman led the impeachment attempt on then-President Donald Trump in 2019 on behalf of Schiff and the House Intelligence Committee. He was also a proponent of the “Russia collusion” hoax, even taunting Trump on Twitter be declaring that the infamous and entirely made up “pee tape” would be found.
Specifically, Goldman said, “What lying? Nothing in the dossier has proved to be false (including your pee tape). But we can agree that we all look forward to the facts coming out. Everything that has come out so far has shown you to be an out and out liar (eg Cohen tape, purpose of June 9 meeting, etc).”
That was in response to a Trump tweet saying “…Why aren’t Mueller and the 17 Angry Democrats looking at the meetings concerning the Fake Dossier and all of the lying that went on in the FBI and DOJ? This is the most one sided Witch Hunt in the history of our country. Fortunately, the facts are all coming out, and fast!”

In any case, Rep. Goldman, during the recent social media censorship hearing in the Weaponization of the Government Subcommittee, defended censorship on Twitter and claimed that the government had never demanded the bird app take down any “lawful” content, saying “even with Twitter, you cannot find actual evidence of any direct government censorship of any lawful speech. And when I say lawful, I mean noncriminal speech because plenty give you lunch is noncriminal.”
Rep. Jordan was evidently waiting for that, as he quickly pulled out an email showing the Joe Biden White House demanding the censorship of a dissident doctor tweeting about Covid. Watch that here:
Rep. Daniel Goldman (who bought a congressional seat) says "you cannot find actual evidence of any direct government censorship of lawful speech."

As you can hear in the clip, Rep. Jordan said “I’d ask unanimous consent to enter into the record the following email from Clark Humphrey, executive office of the presidency, White House office, January 23 2021. That’s the Biden administration. 4:39 am. Hey, folks, this goes to Twitter. Hey, folks…just wanted to flag the below tweet. And I’m wondering if we can get moving on the process for having it removed, ASAP….And then if we can keep an eye out for tweets that fall in this same genre, that would be great.’ This is a tweet on the very issue…”
Then, Jordan and Goldman fought over whether the tweet was “lawful,” with Goldman presenting no evidence that it wasn’t and Rep. Jordan saying that the “government tried to tell Twitter to…explicitly remove something.”
Jordan then argued that “all I’m saying is you said ‘at no time did the government explicitly say to take a tweet down” but “here we have it right here…they couldn’t even wait two days, two days into this administration. They were asked Twitter to take something down and we will get you the underlying tweet“.
