Speaking on Thursday, January 30, Fox News Channel “The Five” co-host Jessica Tarlov freaked out over President Donald Trump’s anti-DEI comments in the wake of the horrible crash in DC taht left dozens dead. In that statement, Trump hammered Democrats for implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that he said could have led to the crash.
Trump, as background, said after the crash, “I put safety first. Obama, Biden and the Democrats put policy first.” He continued, The FAA’s website states they include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability, and dwarfism.” He added, “Brilliant people have to be in those positions.”
Tarlov lost it over those comments. Snapping about Trump’s criticism of DEI in the wake of the crash, she said, “there is a moment to be talking about those things [DEI policies], and there is a moment to just be a consoler-in-chief.” She then quoted CNN aviation correspondent Pete Muntean’s reaction to Trump’s comments, saying, “What he said was not only unprofessional, unpresidential, inconsiderate of the status of the investigation, but it’s frankly unhinged.”
Continuing, she said that when Trump read off of the teleprompter, he “sounded like somebody who was actually thinking of the families of the people who had just passed away.” She then said, referring to his off-script comments about DEI, “Then he had a campaign rally in the middle of what should have been a somber occasion.”
She went on to argue that Trump could have gotten rid of DEI in his first term, at least as relates to the FAA and air traffic controllers, “And these DEI policies were put in place in 2013. He had every opportunity through his first administration to revoke them if he thought they were terrible, but he didn’t.” Tarlov concluded by saying, “DEI is not a scapegoat for everything.”
The day before that, Tarlov freaked out about Trump’s anti-bureaucratic moves. Speaking about his funding freeze, Tarlov snapped, “It is complete chaos.” She continued, angrily describing Trump’s full-court press attempt to take out much of the Deep State as not orderly, “It is not being managed in any sort of orderly fashion at all.”
Then, when Tarlov commented on a bureaucrat who posted online that he would stay in the government to fight Trump rather than take the buyout offer, Watters chuckled, “Great,” leading to a furious rant from Tarlov. She snapped, “Acting as if everybody who has dedicated their life to public service is easily replaceable or not doing their job is a gross position and not reflective of reality at all and they will learn that the hard way when they start pushing people out.”

She went on to claim that the funding freeze had been “confusing even Republican senators who are getting their marching orders from the top.” She added, “Then they go out there they say what they are supposed to say like good little soldiers. Then they hear from all of their constituents that the portals are down, they don’t know what is going on with Head Start, Medicaid, etc.”
She further said, speaking of Trump’s attempts to keep those senators in line and following orders as regards his agenda, “Then they hear that the freeze has been frozen. They say that is a good thing, and I am sure they are about to get slapped on the wrist again when they’ve stepped out of line.” Watch Tarlov here:
