Joking about the awfulness and presidential aspirations of Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, Fox News’ Jesse Watters said that Newsom could become “the first woman president.” That came as Watters joked on “The Five” about Newsom’s emotional capacity and the state of the Democratic Party.
For reference, Newsom has been suggesting since October that he would potentially enter the presidential primary in 2028, as some polling has shown that he is ahead of his potential Democratic Party rivals and thus could have good chances of winning the race. However, it is unclear if that advantage will dissipate given the massive amount of crime in California.
Beginning by joking about the social commentary that comes with the idea of a female president, Watters said, “Many people are saying, ‘Do women have the emotional maturity to be president?’ Many people are saying, ‘Do they have the personal contacts in the business world to manage the economy?’ Many people are saying, Greg, ‘Do women have the respect of the generals?’”
That’s how he got to joking about Newsom being a potential female president. He said, slowly introducing it, “Many people are saying women don’t have the sense of humor to be president. I’ve heard that from a lot of people. None of those things, I believe.” That’s when he got to the punchline: “But I believe Gavin Newsom could be the first woman president.”
Continuing, the Fox News Channel personality built on that by repeatedly roasting Newsom and sounding off on how terrible Newsom is, saying, “Because when I hear him talk, he sounds like a woman. The kind of emotional instability — you don’t know whether he’s having a mid-life crisis, an identity crisis, a crisis of confidence.”
He then joked about Newsom’s book and how it tries to portray him as being so wonderful, whereas in reality he is obviously awful, saying, “I’ve read the book, and it’s great, and he has so much potential with his athleticism, his hair. He’s a genuinely nice guy.”
Watters further added, jokingly commenting on the governor’s issues, “The only reason he is running for president is to prove his worth to his father and to get back at all the bullies who beat the crap out of him in middle school. Now I’m saying don’t run for president. Run to see a psychiatrist instead.”

Gavin Newsom has, in any case, continued to be hammered online for the ongoing and massive fraud in his state, a reputation he has tried and largely failed to confront. Recently, for example, he declared, “California is again leading the charge against large-scale identity theft and hospice fraud. Today, we’re taking decisive action against 14 providers who tried using stolen identities to bill Medi-Cal for nonexistent hospice services.”
Nick Shirley skewered him in response, saying, “You tried to paint me as a pervert for exposing fraud, and as a result radical leftists started trying to dox me and send death threats, wanting to kill me. Now you are taking credit for “leading the charge” on the fraud. Are you serious? You are the fraud.”
