WATCH: “Jeb!” Throws His Support Behind DeSantis for 2024

Trump’s 2016 nemesis, low energy Jeb! Bush, recently appeared on Fox Nation and threw his support behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.  When asked how DeSantis responded to crises, Jeb noted correctly that DeSantis has done well, saying:

“He gets an A for sure. When these the storm when in hit. It’s devastating. I mean, it is it’s wiped out southwest Florida, they’re looking for, for someone to give them hope that things are gonna get better. The fact that he could announce that, for example, the bridge to Sanibel Island would be built in record time and open within 10 days. I think it’s pretty remarkable.”

Things then turned to 2024 and low-energy Jeb said that DeSantis is his guy, telling Fox Nation when asked if 2024 is his opportunity to run for the presidency:

“I think it is. He’s been a really effective governor. He’s young. I think we’re on the verge of a generational change in our politics, kind of hope. So, I think it’s time for a more forward leaning future oriented conversation or politics as well, which has made him should he choose to run for president as serious contender in Republican politics. And who better to do it than someone who’s been outside of Washington who’s governed effectively, who I think has shown that Florida could be a model for the future of our country?”

People on Twitter were not positive about Jeb endorsing DeSantis, saying things like:

“George HW Bush was CIA. The same CIA that has been weaponized against us. Nothing but corrupt establishment. There was a time I really like Ron DeSantis but after all this I distrust him 1000%. GOP has sold us out for YEARS and I can see with the Bushes behind him nothing will change. We are in big trouble.”

“@GovRonDeSantis this is the kind of endorsement that should make you rethink your life. ¡Jeb! is not someone to take political advice from!”

“I wonder in Ron understands that these types of endorsements hurt him with the base?”

“Hey @GovRonDeSantis if these RINOS and neocons endorse you it hurts you it doesn’t help. I will never vote for you if the likes of Paul Ryan and the Bushes endorse you. Makes you swamp establishment”

“I might have been completely wrong about Ron. He seemed like he was decent, even good, in florida; but these endorsements are worrying”

“@JebBush just sealed the deal, Desantis does not have a chance. If he is backed by any Bush family member. Score one for our President Trump.”

Numerous commenters also noted that DeSantis is not actually from outside of Washington, as Jeb insisted, as he was a congressman in the US House of Representatives before becoming the Governor of Florida.

DeSantis is a great governor and has done much that is good for Florida. But endorsements from Establishment GOP hacks of the Jeb! Bush mold are worrying and show why much of the MAGA base is still supportive of Trump over DeSantis.
