Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) took an opportunity during a recent hearing in the House of Representatives to weigh in on the topic of mass fraud, in a clip that’s now going viral due to the flippant way she treated the matter. According to Crockett, there’s no reason for Americans to be worried about fraud because “no system is perfect” and there’s “always been fraud.”
Crockett began her comments by stating that she wanted to address the issue raised by the chairman during the meeting, specifically his concerns about fraud and his lack of providing numerical data to support his claims. In a rather dismissive way, the Texas Democrat said she had numbers if that was something people were worried about.
She said, kicking off her ridiculous rant, “But I do want to make sure that I cover one thing that the chairman spoke about. He specifically said that he’s concerned about the fraud. He’s not giving us numbers, but I can give you some numbers if we’re concerned about how much money it may be costing us because systems are not perfect.”
She then seemingly justified fraud by saying that none of the systems in America are perfect and that fraud has always existed within the various programs and systems in the country. “We have no perfect systems,” Crockett said, adding, “We have always had some level of fraud in anything that we have.”
The congresswoman again tried to make light of fraud that is soaking up tax dollars from hard-working Americans by pointing out that there’s no such thing as perfection in our world. “There’s no such thing as perfection walking on this earth.”

As one can imagine, folks on social media had a whole lot to say about Crockett’s comments. One user flayed the Texas Democrat for her inability to relate to the average working American by writing, “Spoken like someone who has never worked an honest day.” Another poked fun at the lack of intelligence inherent in Crockett’s take on fraud, pointing out the expensive education she received, which didn’t seem to help her in coming up with a coherent response to the issue at hand. “Her education cost $100 million dollars (true) and she says this?” the user said.
Another commenter posted a meme featuring a photo of Crockett with the famous quote, “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” The caption to the meme said, “for the love of God…People might as well stop worrying about murder too, since there’s always been murder, right?”
Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider commented on the video clip, raising critical questions about how much fraud should be considered acceptable. “Exactly how much fraud is acceptable in your household?” Schneider asked, directing his question at Crockett.
“They spewed out after the 2020 election. I believe this is what they said ‘yes we did find fraud but not enough to make any difference.’ Again, I say… How much fraud in your household makes any difference? I’m thinking any,” he added.
