Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), infamous for her unprofessional outbursts, suffered a massive meltdown during a House hearing concerning public broadcasters like NPR and PBS. During her rant, she stumbled through the First Amendment and made a fool of herself in front of the House.
For context, Rep Jasmine Crockett was elected in 2023 and quickly began to make a name for herself with poor behavior and extreme far-left politics. She made headlines for threatening Senator Ted Cruz, threatening to fight other representatives, and melting down at the slightest provocation.
Such was shown when she defended the woke NPR CEO during a March 26, 2025, House hearing. Crockett began her woke remarks by cynically defending free speech. She said, “Care about emergency management, and they don’t care about free speech, all of which are harming the American people. In fact, I’mma (sic) skip off real quick, because they have tried to come for you, Miss Mayor, and I just want to clarify you did not work for NPR when those statements were made, did you? That is correct?”
After the former NPR employee answered, the woke politician continued her vile screed. Attacking Fox News, she whined, “And to be clear, free speech is not about whatever it is that y’all want somebody to say, and the idea that you want to shut down everybody that is not Fox News is bullsh*t. We need to stop playing because that’s what y’all are doing in here. You don’t want to hear the opinions in any (sic) of anybody else.
Concluding her remarks, Crockett said, “The Constitution says Congress shall make no law respecting or establishing religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging ….” As her rant went over time, the chair interrupted, “The gentle woman’s time has expired. The gentle woman’s time has expired.”
A clip of the incident was posted to X by a prominent conservative influencer who blasted the infamous congresswoman. He posted, “🚨Jasmine Crockett hyperventilates defending taxpayer-supported leftwing propaganda mills PBS/NPR: “The idea that you want to shut down everybody that’s not Fox News is bullsh*t. We need to stop playing because that’s what y’all doing in here!'”
In the comments under the post, conservatives were incensed by her unprofessional rant. One comment mocked the Democrat for stumbling through the constitution, saying, “😂😂😂😂😂 This was definitely the very first time in Jasmine Crockett’s life that she (attempted to) read the First Amendment. Didn’t realize the establishment of religion clause precedes free speech. She ran out of time before even getting to free speech 😠Hilarious FAFO”

Picking apart her argument, many users voiced their support for defunding the far-left NPR. One such comment asked, “Does she realize that PBS/NPR are taxpayer funded? So yes, while they have free speech, we also have the freedom to have them shut down for the garbage they spout.” Agreeing, another user wrote, “PBS and NPR have long operated as taxpayer-funded extensions of the partisan media complex—burning public dollars to push narratives that 72% of Americans see as biased. Defending this racket while our border collapses and veterans wait months for care isn’t journalism advocacy—it’s ideological extortion.”
