Infamous Trump hater Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) recently revealed that she’s highly disturbed by the fact that so many people “disrespect” her, noting her self-proclaimed status as one of the most “powerful people in the country” with her position within the federal government. “I’m a black woman in America,” Crockett went on to say during an interview on the talk show “Sherri.”
“So I mean – I mean some people are just like, oh, but you’re a congresswoman. I’m a black woman first,” Crockett added, before launching into a hissy fit over the amount of “disrespect” she gets on a daily basis. The Texas Democrat wondered aloud how anyone could act in such a way toward her, given her status as one of hundreds of congressional lawmakers, which, in the words of her inflated ego, makes her one of the “most powerful people in this country.”
“And so you know the level of disrespect that is continuously lobbed against us as black women. You know for me, I’m like, wait a minute. Now, I am one of the 535 most powerful people in this country,” she continued. “And for some reason you think we on the same level, but you don’t disrespect me. Like, it’s not gonna happen.”
When the Founding Fathers created the U.S. government, it was with the idea in mind that representatives would be public servants, comprised of regular, everyday people. These individuals are given the task of working for their constituents. Conservatives, who heartily agree with this founding principle, would not consider someone working in Congress to be somehow elevated above the common man.
Crockett, who lost the Democrat primary for a Senate seat in Texas, has a lengthy record of making controversial and mean-spirited comments, often attempting to paint herself as the victim when she receives pushback for her statements. A report from Breitbart News pointed out that the Democratic congresswoman often states that she is being unfairly targeted because of her skin color.
The Texas Democrat, however, has not been shy about expressing her animosity toward President Donald Trump and MAGA supporters, referring to him as the “enemy of the United States” and a “wannabe Hitler” who has a “cult” of followers. The report also noted that Crockett has often stoked the fires of political unrest in the country, making a number of ludicrous statements in order to fire up her far-left base.
One such display of uncouth behavior can be found in a comment making fun of paralyzed Texas Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott in a 2025 Human Rights Campaign dinner speech. “Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there,” she said. “Come on, now. And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot-ass mess, Honey, so, um, so, yes. Yes, yes, yes. Right, okay,” she said during the event.

Crockett has also been accused of aggressive behavior when she allegedly snatched a journalist’s phone and grabbed his hand because she didn’t want to answer his question about her participation in the Tesla Takedown. She has also slammed Christian lawmakers, accusing them of wanting to take food stamps away from the hungry.
Crockett also blamed the Trump administration’s “failed immigration policies” for the high price of groceries. “One thing I can tell you, is that if you sit down and you say, ‘Are you okay with your grocery prices? Are you okay with the fact that housing prices are going up?’ and you start to connect how important it is for us to have immigrants that are contributing to our country in this way, then, people may start to shift,” Crockett said on CBS News in 2025.
The Breitbart report concluded by slamming Democrats for downplaying their violent rhetoric and for not holding Crockett accountable for her actions, writing, “And while Democrats continue to deflect on their party’s rhetoric, inciting violence against Trump and supporters, they seemingly continue to turn a blind eye to Crockett, who has referred to President Trump – who recently faced yet another assassination attempt – as the ‘grim reaper.’ He, alongside his administration, she said, is trying to ‘deal death to us with every single policy that they hand out.'”
