WATCH: ICE Rescues One Year Old from Death in Hair-Raising Airport Incident

In yet another major public relations win for ICE based on the good work its agents are doing every day for Americans, it was revealed that an ICE agent saved the life of a 1-year-old boy in New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday, March 25. The boy was apparently experiencing a “medical emergency” and the ICE agent leaped into action.

Such is what the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed in a press release that it promulgated on Thursday, March 26. In the statement, DHS revealed how the boy’s father was waiting in a TSA PreCheck line with the boy, and a nearby ICE agent knew exactly what to do when the boy suddenly became unresponsive.

The statement began by briefly summarizing what had happened, saying, “On March 25, 2026, an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent helping to support Transportation Security Administration (TSA) operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York jumped into action to help save the life of a one-year-old child experiencing a medical emergency.”

Continuing, the statement noted that the boy was saved from almost certain death by the quick-acting ICE agent, as the child was unresponsive and unable to breathe for two full minutes: “The heroic actions of this officer began when a one-year-old child became unresponsive in the arms of his father, unable to breathe for almost two minutes.”

It went on to note that the agent was alerted to the terrifying situation by the father’s desperate cries for help, saying, “CCTV review shows a passenger in a TSA Precheck line holding his one-year-old in his arms when the child’s arms go lifeless; panic ensues, and the father is seen scrambling around the area, and calling for help.”

The agent apparently heard the screams, raced to the scene, and rescued the child: “The agent working at his post, heard the screams from the father and other passengers and sprinted to the scene. The father handed the child to the officer, who then assessed the unresponsive child and began performing the Heimlich maneuver.”

That quick-thinking maneuver evidently saved the child, and soon emergency medical personnel were on the scene and able to help as well. The DHS statement said, describing that aspect of the situation, “After a few seconds, the child started breathing again. EMS personnel arrived on scene with medical equipment to further monitor and re-assess the child. The child was re-assessed and determined to be healthy enough to fly.”

Newly minted DHS Secretary Marwayne Mullin, commenting on the incident, noted that the child likely would have passed away if not for the quick-thinking, quick-acting ICE agent. He said, “The ICE agent sprang into action and saved this one-year-old child’s life. If our agent had not been there and stepped up, this would have been a tragic outcome.”

Continuing, the new DHS Secretary noted that ICE is continuing to stand up and do its duty for America despite the slurs and smears hurled its way by the Democrats and woke press, and will continue protecting Americans in every way it can, as shown by this incident. He said, “Despite the endless smears and lies told about them by sanctuary politicians and the media, our ICE officers show up every day to protect the Homeland and their fellow Americans.”
