In a heartwarming video which went massively viral on social media, two LAPD officers can be seen respectfully folding an American flag while cleaning up debris from the violent anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests sweeping LA.

For context, since June 6, 2025, violent riots have plagued the California city in response to a recent uptick in immigration raids. Instead of condemning the violence, many Democrats have taken the opportunity to use the riots as a political prop in their anti-Trump agenda.

Posting the heartwarming video, a prominent conservative voice on X celebrated the officers’ respect for the flag. “LAPD saw an American flag left on the ground after Democrats rioted in the streets. They folded it properly. This is what America is about!!”

In the comments under the post, conservatives celebrated the officer’s dedication to the flag. One such comment said, “There are a large number of police officers who served. Veterans. Heroes. They would never tolerate disrespect of our flag. They know what it represents more than anyone else.” Building on this point, another user said, “The US flag code needs to be ratified into law. It should be illegal to desecrate our flag. The Supreme Court made a big mistake declaring it free speech.”

Thanking the LAPD officers, one conservative comment read, “No matter how you try to destroy ‘Old Glory’, a real, true American patriot will pick her up and give her the respect she deserves.Thank you!!!” Agreeing another wrote, “That’s what’s worth fighting for. What we love. What we stand for and who we r. In the middle of all that shit it mattered to them. I love that. Patriots all the way.”

Explaing the correct way to treat a flag, one user noted, “I don’t think most people realize that the Flag is not supposed to touch the ground: Official Rule (from the U.S. Flag Code):“The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.” — U.S. Flag Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, § 8(b).”

Breaking down the rules, the same user wrote, “What That Means: •It should not touch the ground out of respect and proper handling. •However, if it accidentally touches the ground and is not soiled or damaged, it does not need to be destroyed. •You can continue using the flag as long as it’s in good condition. If the flag is too dirty or damaged to be respectfully displayed, it should be retired, usually by burning it in a dignified way.”

Reacting to the same clip, one woman elegantly said, “In the midst of chaos, with rocks being pelted at them and people literally lighting things on fire and dropping it from above, these heroes folded a discarded American flag! I would love to know who they are! God bless our law enforcement! ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️.”

Reposting the clip of the brave officers, Ryan Fournier, a prominent conservative influcner stated, “Amidst all the chaos, these brave heroes saw an American flag left behind….They stopped, and folded it with honor. This is the only flag I will ever salute. Thank you, CHP and LAPD. 🙏🏼🇺🇸.”
