Recently, a high school in Ohio put into perspective how fast time flies in a video commemorating the class of 2024 graduates. Louisville High School shared a video that has garnered millions of views across the internet, showing the graduating senior class transform from their Kindergarten into graduating seniors.
“When I saw the TikTok trend with people jumping from the airport to their destination, I thought that using our youngest students and our graduating class would be a creative visual,” Jen Wilson, spokesperson for Louisville City Schools, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
Wilson created the video with a handful of elementary school students, seeking to “turn them into teenagers.” She continued, “After I finished filming one group, students were so confused that they didn’t immediately turn into teenagers. It was precious.”
According to 6-year-old Addison Beamer, participating in the video was “super cool,” and she expressed her excitement to be a “big girl” someday when she graduates high school. “It’s super cool that one day that will actually be me, a big girl, graduating from Louisville High School,” she said.
Graduate of the class of 2024 Elizah Adkins stated, “It was great to be able to have this last moment and memory with my classmates.” She further said, “After seeing the final video, I was touched because it shows how fast the years go. One second, we are kindergarteners enjoying playing together at recess and the next, we are seniors enjoying our last moments in the same school.”
She left a bit of parting advice for the younger generation, encouraging them to be active in extracurricular activities. “Join the clubs. Try out for sports. Be as involved as you can. You won’t regret it,” she said. Graduating Senior Caleb Riley told the class of 2036 to trust in the Lord with all things in life. “My advice to kindergarteners is to think about others first, to know that you were created for a purpose, to spread positivity into the world and to trust in God with anything you face,” Riley said. Regarding other graduation news, The American Tribune reported on a New Orleans teenager who defied all odds stacked against him when he graduated high school as the valedictorian while spending his high school in a homeless shelter.
Nineteen-year-old Elijah Hogan graduated at the top of his class from Walter C. Cohen High School with a near-perfect GPA of 3.93. “It’s been tough and rough, had a few trips and falls down, [but] I’m alright,” Hogan said. “I have people that were there to help me get through it. And without them I wouldn’t have been where I’m at now as a valedictorian,” he said.
“The speech in itself was more of a thank-you letter to the school, to the staff, to the students and to their parents for helping us to get past our school years and get us where we are now graduating, going off in the world,” the valedictorian noted. “As time went on, I started to build up relationships, had to meet some wonderful people, got to know a lot of people, as well as forming relationships and trust with them.”
