After the death of Hulk Hogan, an iconic wrestler, actor, and Trump supporter, Conservatives remembered his passing by turning back to a video of Hogan mimicking Trump’s iconic dance moves. While Hogan became famous as a wrestler, his remarks at the Republican National Convention, where he said, “Let Trumpamania make America Great Again!” became an instant sensation.

For context, Donald Trump’s signature dance, often referred to as the “Trump Shuffle,” has become a quintessential part of the president’s public appearances. For many, the dance has come to represent Trump’s dramatic victory in the 2024 election and his dramatic efforts to save America.

Such was shown when Hogan debuted his version of the Trump Shuffle to widespread applause. In the clip, which was captured on Fox News, Hogan can be seen moving his arms from side to side like Trump, before commenting, “You’ve got to stick out your lips,” perfectly imitating Trump’s facial expression.

Reacting to Hogan’s unexpected passing, the president issued a heartfelt statement. He said, “We lost a great friend today, the ‘Hulkster.’ Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart. He gave an absolutely electric speech at the Republican National Convention, that was one of the highlights of the entire week.”

Continuing his remarks, the president added, “He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive. To his wife, Sky, and family, we give our warmest best wishes and love. Hulk Hogan will be greatly missed!”

During the Republican National Convention, the wrestler introduced Donald Trump with his now-famous opening remarks. He yelled, “Well, let me tell you something brother!! Let Trumpamania run wild! Let Trumpamania rule again! Let Trumpamania make America Great Again!”

At the same event, Hulk addressed the frightening assassination attempt at Butler, Pennsylvania, where an assassin’s bullet nearly killed Trump. He declared, “What happened last week…when they took a shot at my hero….They tried to kill the greatest president of the United States! Enough was enough!!”

Hogan was known for his staunch political commentary, as seen when he took on Kamala Harris at an event promoting his “Real American” beer company. Hogan joked,  “Do you want me to drop the leg on Kamala…Do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris? Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian? I’m gonna get heat for that one, brother…that was not me, that was the beers talking.”

Reacting to Hogan’s passing, several prominent Republicans offered their condolences. Vice President JD Vance said, “Hulk Hogan was a great American icon and one of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid. The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace.”

Similarly, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) stated, “RIP to the great Hulk Hogan, who lived right here in FL-13. It was an honor to be your Representative. Gone, but the legend of Hulkamania will run wild forever.” Adding his sympathies,  Speaker Mike Johnson said, “From my childhood in the ’80s, to campaigning with him last year, I always saw him as a giant in stature and in life. May he rest in peace.”
