WATCH: Hakeem Jeffries Goes Ballistic on MSNBC Whining about Video of Him in a Sombrero that Trump Posted

Speaking during a very unintentionally funny appearance on MSNBC, Democratic House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) went utterly ballistic over a video that President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social. The video, which was an obviously edited one meant to be humorous, leading Democrats like Rep. Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) were shown whining about Trump while Jeffries wore a photoshopped on sombrero.

Rep. Jeffries, when he appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” with host Lawrence O’Donnell on Monday, September 29, freaked out and claimed that the AI video posted by President Trump of him in a sombrero was “bigotry” and utterly unacceptable, showing a total lack of humor.

That came when host Lawrence O’Donnell asked him about it and claimed that the joke video was “disgusting.” He said, “I’m not showing this video that Donald Trump put out about you and Chuck Schumer today. This fake video. People are going to see it. They’ll they’ll see it in other ways. It’s easy to find, but it is absolutely disgusting in every way.”

Continuing, O’Donnell got to his question and kept claiming, as he did so, that the president was “lying” about Democrats. He said, “It is a lie. It’s the man you met with has now lied about what you said after that meeting. Could you give us your reaction to that? Trump posted the video tonight.”

Responding, Rep. Jeffries insisted that the video was a “disgusting” display of “bigotry” that shouldn’t be taken seriously or be a way that President Trump could gain an advantage, insisting, “It’s a disgusting video and we’re going to continue to make clear bigotry will get you nowhere.”

Rep. Jeffries then went on to insist that, in establishing work requirements for Medicaid and kicking illegal aliens off of it and other programs, Republicans had launched an “assault” on healthcare. He said, “We are fighting to protect the health care of the American people in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault on all the things Medicaid, Medicare, the Affordable Care Act.”

Adding to that with yet more invective about why it is bad that the GOP has taken action to trim the waste in federal spending, Jeffries claimed, “Republicans are closing our hospitals, nursing homes, and community based health clinics and have effectively shut down medical research in the United States of America.”

Then, insisting that rewarding billionaires was the only possible way to explain why the Trump Administration would want to kick illegal aliens off of Medicaid, saying, “Clearly, Donald Trump and Republicans know that they have a very weak position because they are hurting everyday Americans while continuing to reward their billionaire donors, just like they did in that one big ugly bill with massive tax breaks.”

Concluding, he insisted, “Democrats are united in the House and the Senate, and the point that we’ve made will continue to be clear. We are fighting to lower the high cost of health care, prevent these dramatically increased premiums, co-pays and deductibles that will take place in a matter of days. Unless Republicans are willing to act in terms of renewing the Affordable Care Act tax credits.”
