Things exploded on Fox News Channel’s “The Five” when host Greg Gutfeld clashed with a liberal co-host, Marie Harf, after she went on the attack against President Donald Trump for his alleged “corruption” while also defending the “Biden Crime Family.” Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld skewered her over her claims.
As background, the controversy at hand is Qatar’s offer to gift a Boeing 747 to the United States as a gesture of goodwill and thanks. Critics contend that the move, and Trump’s desire to accept it, represents corruption, whereas Trump has noted that the gift is to the US government, not him.
Posting about the matter on Truth Social as the furor raged, Trump said, “The Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Department of Defense, NOT TO ME! It is a gift from a Nation, Qatar, that we have successfully defended for many years. It will be used by our Government as a temporary Air Force One, until such time as our new Boeings, which are very late on delivery, arrive. Why should our military, and therefore our taxpayers, be forced to pay hundreds of millions of Dollars when they can get it for FREE from a country that wants to reward us for a job well done. This big savings will be spent, instead, to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Only a FOOL would not accept this gift on behalf of our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Harf, bringing up the matter on “The Five” and attacking Trump for it, insisted that his interest in accepting the $400 million jet shows that he is corrupt in a way that Joe Biden wasn’t. She began, “We cannot forget that these countries have invested millions and millions of dollars in Trump family businesses.”
Continuing, she insisted that the Biden family behaved more forthrightly, snapping, “And if this were the Biden family, the “Biden Crime Family” you all talked about for four years, going to countries and getting millions and millions of dollars from the same people who are investing those millions to personally enrich Donald Trump, you would be furious.”
Jesse Watters fired back first, insisting that the whole thing was ridiculous, as the Trump family has a business to run and so of course has to go around the world and solicit investments for the business, whereas the Biden family had no proper reason to be doing the same. He said, “That’s because the Trump family has a business. The Biden family didn’t have a business.”
Gutfeld, at that point, chimed in and noted that the Biden family and Trump family are very different because of that difference in business ownership, and so they can’t be compared, saying, “Yeah, you can’t compare the two.” Harf angrily retorted that Trump is more corrupt, saying, “You’re right, Trump is worse.”

That then led to an explosive back and forth between the two, with Gutfeld snapping, “The Bidens exploited public service for personal wealth.” Harf insisted that President Trump is doing the same with striking deals in the Middle East, snapping, “That’s what Donald Trump is doing today!”
Gutfeld argued that the comparison is absurd and the Biden family hid corruption, whereas Trump discusses things openly, limiting opportunities for corruption. He said, “You wanna talk about Trump business deals and Biden business deals? One is transparent and one isn’t,. We know about the jet because he’s not hiding it. We didn’t know about the Burisma deal. We didn’t know about the money coming from China. That was all secret.”
Harf, for her part, fired back that it could be corruption even if people know about it, snapping, “Just because you see the corruption doesn’t mean it’s not corruption, Greg.” Watters, at that point, asked, “What was the Biden family business?” Harf had no good answer to that all-important question.
