Speaking in a powerful tribute to Turning Point USA founder and Trump ally Charlie Kirk on the Friday night broadcast of his “Gutfeld!” show on Fox News Channel, host Greg Gutfeld got emotional in commenting on how Mr. Kirk did the Lord’s work with TPUSA and vowed that Charlie’s influence would rise rather than fall in the wake of his assassination.
As background, out of respect for Mr. Kirk and so that his network could better cover the assassination and manhunt for the suspect, Gutfeld! didn’t air on Wednesday night, September 10, the night of the murder. It announced on X, “Gutfeld! will not air tonight due to breaking news coverage of Charlie Kirk’s death. For the latest, stay tuned to @FoxNews”
Gutfeld did, however, chime in on X with a thought of his own about the murder on the day it happened. Referencing the MSNBC personality who blamed Kirk’s rhetoric for his assassination, Gutfeld snapped, “The crowd that called us nazis say hateful words cause hateful actions. They were right.”
In any case, it was on Friday, September 12, that Kirk’s killer was finally caught, a major victory for law enforcement and one that let Gutfeld better comment on what happened to Charlie during his show, leading to the emotional tribute for the much-beloved TPUSA head and key leader of the MAGA youth wing.
Commenting on Mr. Kirk’s life and noting that Charlie took action rather than just speaking about wanting to do so, and so his life had more meaning and more accomplishments that studded it than most countries manage in centuries, Gutfeld said, “He died young, but he accomplished more in 30 years than most countries do in 300. People love to say, ‘I want to make a difference.’ Well, he didn’t just say it. He did it.”
Adding to that, Gutfeld argued that Charlie was clearly on the side of angels, and that the clearest evidence for that is that he was slain by the Devil. Gutfeld said, “He was doing God’s work. How do you know I know that? Because he was cut down by the devil, but his faith had him leave this mortal coil a joyous man.”
Further, Gutfeld, getting emotional, vowed that Mr. Kirk’s legacy and impact on America would not just live on after his murder, but grow with it. He said, “He already knew his impact, which will only grow with his passing. It’s his family. We grieve for his children. And be honest, we kind of grieve for us.”

Then, addressing who it was that the left had murdered, Gutfeld noted that Kirk’s career was built on conversation, and in murdering the man known for just wanting to have a chat, the left had hardened the resolve of the right. He said, “We lost someone great, one of us, a man whose entire career was built on polite conversation, but that grief now hardens into resolve.”
Concluding, Gutfeld emotionally vowed that the left would not succeed in killing Kirk’s idea by killing him, saying, “If you want to kill an idea, the worst thing you could do is kill the man behind it, because that gives the idea not just legs, but also wings and also millions of louder and stronger voices, ours and yours.”
