WATCH: Fox Anchor Has Vulgar Meltdown about Her Boss Live on Air

A former Detroit television anchor was caught on video giving her boss the business, referring to her as a “b***h” during an intense newsroom confrontation that has now become the central focus in a legal battle over her firing. Taryn Asher, a longtime anchor with WJBK-TV Fox 2 Detroit, was in the middle of recording a public service announcement when the encounter took place.

Asher was yanked off the air in November 2025 and has since filed a lawsuit against the network for sex discrimination and retaliation. The Fox affiliate says that Asher was handed her pink slip after she allegedly engaged in “unprofessional workplace behavior” and “outbursts.” The footage of the incident shows Asher getting into an argument over scripts and the newsroom workflow as she prepared to go on camera.

“I am. I’m in Amy’s script, the Amy’s Angels one,” Asher says in the video. “There was—the second thing didn’t make sense, so I was just trying to fix that part and…” the anchor continues. “I know, but I didn’t have time because we have to do this, so I was still reading it.” She then complains about having to wait for scripts to be reviewed while she continues getting ready for the broadcast.

“See, I mean, I can’t wait for you to go through them all and then I go through them, because then I’m already getting ready by then,” she says, according to a report from Trending Politics News. “But this time we had to do the PSAs, so…” It was around this time that things took a much more personal tone and started to get ugly.

“I don’t think you are. You’re walking out really angry,” Asher goes on to say. “B***h,” the anchor adds for additional flavoring. Asher then grew even more frustrated as the encounter continued. “Can I please finish what I’m going to say?” She then says, “What the f**k? Grow up.” The pot boiled over and Asher then vented about the individual she was arguing with.

“I’m so done with her antics, telling on me every five seconds. I’m done,” Asher says. The footage surfaced as Fox pushes back against the former anchor’s lawsuit, which claims she was booted from the station because of her sex and because she issued a complaint about unequal treatment. A court filing from August 14, 2026, tells a different story.

Fox claims that several employees wrote complaints about Asher and her conduct the week before she was placed on paid leave. The station says that Asher yelled at several employees over guest interview assignments, repeatedly used profane language aimed at her colleagues, and engaged in “confrontational and disrespectful interactions” with members of the staff.

The station also claimed that Asher confronted an employee that she believed had issued a complaint about her to management. They also disputed her account of a different fight over guest interviews and stated that she frequently failed to show up for editorial meetings where assignments were discussed despite management encouraging her to get involved.

In the documents, Fox cited an incident that happened on October 30, 2025, when Asher allegedly believed that one of her male co-anchors, Roop Raj, was given an interview she had previously booked. The station said that the interview had been assigned to Asher, but she later yelled and shouted at two colleagues over the confusion. Asher denies that she was involved in any misconduct serious enough to result in being fired.
