WATCH: Former CNN Hack Jim Acosta Rambles about Being Drunk on NYE Show

During Don Lemon’s YouTube New Year’s Eve 2025 live special, former CNN colleague Jim Acosta joined remotely from Hawaii, appearing drunk. Despite Lemon’s ban on politics or mentioning Trump, Acosta joked about being “so hammered” that even Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who has been criticized for alleged drinking issues by liberals, would tell him to pace himself.

Continuing his drunken attempts at comedy, he quipped that Marjorie Taylor Greene was making sense. Lemon laughed and called him out for having “politics on the brain.” Acosta admitted the tough year drove his drinking.

Starting off the chaotic segment, Jim Acosta began with classless profanity, yelling, “Aloha, b*tches!” Don Lemon, clearly uncomfortable, noted a no-politics/Trump rule by mentioning wanting to get far away from Trump.

Responding with slurred speech, Acosta said, “There goes all my jokes — I was gonna say I’m so hammered that even Pete Hegseth said ‘Jim, pace yourself!’” After a snobish laugh, Lemon interjected,  “Jim, are you smashed?”

Acosta dramatically took a swig and responded, “I’m getting there… It’s been that kind of year, right? We gotta do something, sh*t!” Afterwards, he speculated about the midterms before saying, “I’m so hammered right now, Marjorie Taylor Greene is starting to make sense.” Wrapping up the clip, Lemon said,  “Alright, you had to go there. You have politics on the brain.”

Surprisingly enough, liberal reacted positively to this shameful display. “Good for him. This year sucked a**. We all need to let loose a little!” a progressive comment read. Agreeing, another quipped, “CNN really got rid of real talent like @Acosta and Don Lemon lol NYE was always the best on there.”

This is far from the first time Acosta has made a fool of himself. As we reported at the American Tribune, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt jabbed back at former CNN anchor Jim Acosta at CPAC, saying, “at least I have a job” after he called her a all-star Trump “liar.”

Starting off his biased screed, Acosta whined, “She [Leavitt] might just get on Trump’s all-star team of liars,” adding, “She might be on the bench right now, but if she keeps working hard, she does her homework, she just might make it onto the team.”

Fighting back at a press conference, the courageous SPOX stated, “Since you brought up Jim Acosta: He’s been saying some not-so-nice things about me online, and I’ve resisted responding. But since you brought him up, I’d like to say: Jim, at least I have a job, Jim. OK? Just saying.”

Continuing her epic retort, she declared, “I love how the media takes a few critics when the overwhelming response from the American people is support for what this administration is doing. If you look at the public polling, 70% of Americans, according to CBS, believe that President Trump is delivering on the promises he made.”

Wrapping up her comments, she explained, “We won’t be deterred. We will not be deterred from people like you and the press who are clearly adamantly opposed to cutting waste, fraud and abuse, but we know that American taxpayers at home who have been struggling with an inflationary crisis don’t want their tax dollars going towards crazy DEI programs in countries overseas.”
