WATCH: Former Atlanta Mayor Goes Berserk, Accuses Newspaper of Election Interference by Criticizing Biden

Speaking during a Monday, July 1 interview with MSNBC’s Chris Jansing, former Atlanta Mayor and current advisor to President Joe Biden’s campaign Keisha Lance Bottoms said that Georgia’s largest newspaper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, had engaged in “election interference” with its post-debate criticism of President Biden.

As background, the AJC said that it is “time for Biden to pass the torch” in the wake of the debate, on that many on the right and left saw as being disastrously bad for Biden. In fact, it was so bad that many of the wokest celebrities absolutely lost it online, and reports emerged that others of a similar ilk were breaking down at a debate watch party.

In any case, Bottoms said, when Jansing asked what advice President Biden is getting in the wake of the debate, “Let me just say I was very disappointed with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.” She continued, “As we have talked about making sure that we’re protecting elections and making sure there’s no undue influence, this was undue influence by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, or an attempt to influence.”

She then said, “I think voters should be able to make the decision the same way they did in primaries that were held.” Jansing pushed back on her claims, saying that the AJC was just doing its job in commenting on Biden’s sorry mental state. She, in response, snapped, “Editorial boards are supposed to honor fair elections.”

She continued, accusing the AJC board of trying to influence the election in an unfair or impermissible way, “I don’t think it’s fair when an editorial board with ten people sitting in a room are trying to influence an election, especially in a state like Georgia where there’s already been discussions about influencing elections.”

She then alleged that former President Trump’s alleged flaws and problems should have been brought up by the AJC too, saying, “If you’re going to ask a candidate to step aside, let’s also look at Donald Trump’s record and all of the reasons, including his indictment in Fulton County, trying to influence the secretary of state, his convictions.”

Concluding, she argued that President Biden’s “bad night” was less bad than the Trump presidency, so she’s not overly worried about President Biden, even when he is compared “side-by-side” with Trump. She said, “Let’s put them side-by-side. I’ll take a 90-minute bad night over the totality of Donald Trump’s presidency any day of the week.”

The RNC Research X account, one run by the Republican National Committee and which routinely finds ridiculous videos of President Biden and his fellow Democrats, mocked Bottoms’ comments, saying, “Top Biden campaign advisor Keisha Lance Bottoms accuses editorial boards of election interference for writing negative pieces about Biden 🤡”

Agreeing with the RNC Research account’s take and similarly mocking her comments about the AJC, a commenter on the post wrote, “Oh, of course! Negative pieces about Biden are obviously election interference, but when it’s about Trump, it’s just good journalism. Nothing like a little selective outrage to keep things interesting.”
