In one of the most gut-wrenching and fury-inducing moments in Congress so far this year, a very brave father by the name of Steve Federico commented on the horrid slaying of his daughter, 22-year-old Logan Federico, at the alleged hands of felon who had 39 prior arrests and 25 felonies in just the last decade on his record. Mr. Federico sounded off on the seemingly pro-crime policies that put his daughter’s alleged killer back on the streets time and time again.
For reference, Logan was shot and killed in the town of Columbia, South Carolina, on May 3 of this year. She was visiting friends at the University of South Carolina when the accused killer, 30-year-old Alexander Devante Dickey, broke into the home in which she was staying, dragged her from her bed, and shot her execution-style as she begged for life. He then used her credit cards to go on a shopping spree.
Describing what happened in stomach-churning detail at the very outset of his testimony, Mr. Federico said, “How many of y’all have kids? Think about your child coming home from a night out, going to sleep, and then someone comes in the room, drags her out of bed naked, forced on her knees with her hands over her head, begging for her life. That’s what happened to my daughter. She was five-foot-three, 115 pounds. Bang. Dead. Gone.”
Thundering about the felon who allegedly murdered his daughter being out on the street despite a litany of crimes under his belt, Federico said, “Alexander Dickey was arrested 39 times, 25 felonies. He should have been in jail for 140 years. Do you know how much time he spent in prison? A little over 600 days in 10 years. Two-point-six-five crimes a year since he was 15 years old, and nobody could figure out he couldn’t be rehabilitated?”
Adding to that, Federico demanded that everyone who was involved with keeping the violent felon on the street despite the many felonies of which he was convicted needs to be held personally responsible for his crimes, saying, “Everyone responsible for keeping this man on the streets should be thrown in prison.”
Continuing, Federico went nuclear on Richland County Solicitor Byron Gibson, noting that the prosecutor was more upset that the family of the murdered girl spoke out than that the murder happened in the first place. He said, “I haven’t heard a damn word from Byron Gibson in South Carolina. His biggest concern was that he was pissed off about my interview on Fox News with Trey Gowdy. How pathetic is that?”
Still not done, Federico commented on how his little girl’s future was stolen from her because an outrageously evil felon was aided and abetted by the American injustice system, saying, “She finally figured it out — she wanted to be a teacher. And she was executed.”

Vowing that he would not remain silent and would continue pressuring the government to act, Federico declared, “You woke up a beast, and you pissed off the wrong daddy. I’m not going to be quiet until somebody helps. Logan deserves to be heard. You will be sick and tired of my face and my voice until this gets fixed.”
