Speaking during a ridiculous appearance on the “Breakfast Club” podcast, far-left Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) said that she is now refusing to root for American sports teams and is instead rooting for teams from Mexico and Canada. She said she is doing that because of the new Trump Presidency and because she so despises President Donald Trump.
As background, the sports aspect of the fight between Trump and the respective heads of Canada and Mexico, Prime Minister Trudeau and President Sheinbaum, took a turn towards sporting with back-and-forth national anthem booing and hostility as American teams played Canadian teams in hockey matches. The same happened in basketball, as well.
So, after that blatant display of hostility directed toward the United States, Rep. Jasmine Crockett said not that she is furious Canadians would treat her constituents and countrymen in such a disrespectful manner, but that she finds herself rooting against American teams and for those teams that act rudely toward Americans.
That comment from Rep. Crockett came during a lengthy and tiresome diatribe about how important it is for Americans to be “speaking truth to power.” Giving an example of that, Crockett pointed to her rooting for non-American teams, along with those nations generally, over the United States, as they supposedly speak the truth to the power, us. She said, “The fact that I’m rooting for Canada and I’m rooting for Mexico a lot is really wild.”
Continuing, she referred to the Trump presidency as a “regime” and declared that Canada and Mexico were in the right to resist Trump’s demands, saying, “But they are really the ones that are speaking truth to power right now. They can see what it is, and they were like, we are not messing with this crazy regime from Mar A Lago and basically calling them thugs.”
Still not done, the ridiculous representative proceeded to make herself even more ridiculous by citing her lack of criminal convictions as the reason why she should be seen as “qualified for president.” She said, “If it was me, there is no way. Right now, I got no convictions, no arrests, no nothing and I will never be qualified for president in the eyes of the vast majority of them.”
She then claimed that Trump’s obviously lawfare-based conviction is a reason Americans shouldn’t have taken him seriously and voted for him to be the president again, saying, “But a guy who ended up becoming a convicted felon and had other cases that were pending; he is good to go.” Watch her here:

Commenting on the clip on X (formerly Twitter), conservative news personality Collin Rugg said, “Jasmine is trying to get famous like AOC but she has no skill. AOC’s “personal branding” schtick was pretty successful but Crockett just comes off as a moron.” He also wrote, “This line of thinking is incredibly dumb because no one is stopping her from living in Mexico or Canada. If she is rooting for them, she should do that inside of either of those countries.”
