Elon Musk recently traveled to Italy and appeared alongside Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni at her party’s annual conference. During the Brothers of Italy event, Musk called on the Italians to make more babies and warned them about the dangers of wokeness, which he called the “woke mind virus.”
Speaking about wokeness and why Italy must take pains to keep out the American-style wokeness, which he described as being something that is quite bad, Elon told the audience, “So I just coming to Europe I have to advise you Ah, yes well, this is not something you should import for America. Please don’t import the work mind virus; it is bad.”
Continuing, he explained what is so bad about wokeness and why it is something that he thinks the Italians need to avoid, saying, “So, the I mean, essentially that if you summarize maybe the worldwide virus it consists of creating very, very divisive identity politics, so it actually amplifies what virus one virus in my view, amplifies racism amplifies, frankly sexism and all the isms. And what while claiming to do the opposite, it actually divides people and makes them sort of hate each other and it makes people hate themselves.”
Watch him here:
That wasn’t all. Speaking about the civilizational importance of increasing the total fertility rate and having enough children to create a functional civilization for the next generation, Musk said, “I really want to emphasize that it’s important to have children and to create the new generation. And as simple as it sounds, if people do not have children, there is no new generation.”
Continuing, Musk noted how depressing it is that birth rates are declining constantly and that a bright future won’t be happening without the next generation, saying, “I’m very much in favor of humanity expanding and creating a bright and exciting future for the world. But fundamental to the furtherance of human civilization, is having humans. As simple and basic as that sounds. Every year, I look at the birth rates, and it’s kind of a bit depressing because birth rates seem to decline every year.”
Stressing his point on the importance of birth rates for civilization, Musk noted that everything could just disappear without enough people, saying, “If there is not at least a birth rate keeping the population constant, then people will disappear.”
And, commenting on why it is critical that the great nations and peoples of the world have enough kids to keep their cultures around, Elon said, “One can’t depend on other countries for immigration, and in fact, if you look at say the population worldwide, it’s almost everywhere in the world, and it seems to be a function of almost how – once a country industrializes, once a country urbanizes, the population conveniently starts to decline.”
He then gave a few examples, saying, “We don’t want Japan to disappear, we don’t want Italy as a culture to disappear, we don’t want France’s culture to disappear, I think we have to maintain a sort of reasonable cultural identity of various countries or we simply will not be those countries.”
