As the mainstream media seemingly does its best to ignore the dire situation at the southern border, across which thousands of illegal immigrants and migrants are rushing every day, and the politicians do nothing to stop the flow, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk decided to visit the border and show what’s really going on.
He did so by live-streaming his visit, showing the world what is really going on while donning a cowboy hat and meeting with local law enforcement officers and politicians. “Elon here. I’m at Eagle Pass. Just arrived, and we are just going to go around and talk to the major officials and law enforcement whatnot that are here,” Elon said in his video, posted to X (formerly Twitter).
Continuing, Elon said, in the video which has already been viewed more than 80 million times as of the time this article was written, “This is real-time, unfiltered. There’s no pre-conditions, no nothing. What you see is what I see.”
Explaining his general stance on immigration, presumably to preemptively rebut those who would smear him as a nativist, Elon said, “As an immigrant to the United States, I’m extremely pro-immigrant. I believe that we need a greatly expanded legal immigration system and that we should let anyone in the country, who is hardworking and honest and will be a contributor to the United States.”
He then used that to describe why he is against illegal immigration into the United States, as is currently happening en masse at the southern border. “By the same token, we should also not be allowing people in the country if they are breaking the law. That doesn’t make sense,” Musk noted.
Musk also spoke to GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales, who said, “I really appreciate Elon coming down and giving an unfiltered depiction of what’s happening on the border. Us along the border, we feel very abandoned.” Rep. Gonzales added, “A big part of this is being able to share stories that no one hears about.”
The video came after Elon supported a border wall on X, saying, “We actually do need a wall and we need to require people to have some shred of evidence to claim asylum to enter, as everyone is doing that. It’s a hack that you can literally Google to know exactly what to say! Will find out more when I visit Eagle Pass maybe as soon as tomorrow.”

A Twitter poster and lawyer named Klay Thompson thanked Elon for doing what the media and politicians should be doing but are not, saying, “Good to see Elon having to do the job of the MSM and of the politicians who are literally paid to do this but refuse.”
It remains to be seen if Elon’s headline-grabbing visit leads to any action at the border as the public realizes what is going on, but the videos and visit did at least shed light on the massive problem, though at least now the public is more aware of what is going on.
