In another incident showing the potential need for term limits in America, even for well-liked legislators that are trying to do the job well rather than loot the country one last time like Joe Biden and his crime family, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) appeared to “freeze” mid-thought live during an interview on Fox News Channel, with either tech issues or his age to blame.
As background, Sen. Kennedy is generally quite funny and, as such, is often able to get in some tremendously funny jabs against the woke Democrats and their preferred policies, such as when he had the whole Senate howling with laughter over his joke about government benefits programs.
However, he also is 72 and on the verge of turning 73, and so questions have been raised about whether Sen. Kennedy and a great many more legislators and government officials of like age remain cognitively sharp enough to do their jobs as well as they need to or if it is time to retire before they follow Biden’s path.
Sen. Kennedy might have just given more fuel to critics who say it’s time to retire when he appeared on Fox News to discuss how President Trump is taking the fight to sanctuary cities as they try to push back against his harder-line immigration policies, such as mass round-up operations and resultant deportations on a grand scale.
Defending the president’s position and slamming the sanctuary cities, Sen. Kennedy noted that it is ridiculous for Democrats to be trying to barnstorm America, as they have threatened to, with speeches about how awful ICE is, as the agents in that agnecy are keeping us safe from terrible criminals like Tren de Aragua gangsters.
It was during that segment of the speech that Sen. Kennedy had what many argued was his senior moment. Cutting off with an abrupt pause mid-sentence, Sen. Kennedy said, “Jesus loves him, but–” He then started speaking again, with the camera feed appearing fine other than his stuttering and freezing, saying, “Everybody else-”

Fox News then cut Sen. Kennedy’s camera away and returned host Larry Kudlow to the screen. Kudlow claimed that the senator’s freezing was due to “technical problems.” Later reports, similarly, emerged claiming that what had happened was a tech issue interrupting the feed. Still, many viewers speculated about what had happened, suggesting that age was to blame.
For example, one doctor on X said, “Remember when Mitch McConnell had his mental freezes when speaking? Well, Senator John Kennedy just did the same thing during an interview on Fox Business. Froze in mid-sentence and was not able to continue speaking. The host had to cut away. America seriously needs to stop electing the elderly. It blows my mind that voters just keep doing it.”
Similarly, another poster noted that Sen. McConnell did the same thing not too long ago, totally freezing up while trying to speak in public. That commenter said, “Did anyone just see Senator John Kennedy on FOXBusiness? Seemed to be experiencing some sort of freezing incident like McConnell. Or was it really tech issues #kudlow”
