Speaking during a recent trip to the US-Mexico border, show host Dr. Phil spoke out about the utter disaster at the southern border. Particularly, he commented on the massive fentanyl problem and how the border is, according to Gov. Abbott and others, more or less open along many long stretches, allowing vast numbers of illegal immigrants to cross.
Speaking about the situation, Dr. Phil first commented on the shocking scope of the fentanyl crisis, which has killed thousands of Americans. Doing so, he said, “Texas law enforcement has seized over 454 million lethal doses of fentanyl during the border mission.”
Continuing, he spoke about Gov. Abbott’s view of the border crisis, saying that in the view of the Texas governor, the border is open, and Biden has refused to do his duty. Dr. Phil said, “Abbott has said that the federal government has broken the pacts between the United States federal government and the states. Governor Abbott says President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and is even violated.”
Dr. Phil then appeared to take the side of Texas in the dispute over whether the federal government can tear down the border defense infrastructure that Texas has erected, the reason for the Abbott-Biden spat. He said, “The result is a humanitarian crisis unlike anything we’ve seen before, smashing records for illegal immigration by wasting taxpayer dollars to tear open Texas border, to tear open Texas border security infrastructure.”
He then turned from America’s security to the security of the migrants, noting that the Rio Grande crossing is quite dangerous. In his words: “Governor Abbott says President Biden has enticed tens of thousands of illegal immigrants away from 28 illegal entry points along the Texas border and into the dangerous and deadly waters of the Rio Grande.”
Then, turning back to the Biden Administration, Dr. Phil once again put the crisis’ scope in focus, saying, “According to the Department of Homeland Security since President Biden took office, more than 6 million illegal immigrants across Texas Southern border in just three years. That’s more than the population of 33 different states in this country. And what about our vice president? Kamala Harris? Did you know she’s our country’s immigration [chief]? Yes, how many times she’s been to the border?”
Posting about the matter on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Phil commented, “Wrapping up my trip to the border. This is something I needed to see with my own eyes. I have so much to say and share. Stay tuned. @MeritStMedia #Immigration #Border”

Later, Dr. Phil posted a picture of himself with armed men in the border area and captioned it by saying, “Spent time at the border today with the men and women protecting our country. Searching for truth and answers… more on that to come. #MeritStreetMedia #Immigration #Border #WeveGotIssues @MeritStMedia”
And, in another tweet, he showed himself walking along the border and talking with law enforcement officials. Captioning that post, he wrote, “We’re seeing smashing records for illegal immigration by wasting taxpayer dollars to tear open the Texas border security infrastructure.#WeveGotIssues @MeritStMedia #DrPhil”
