WATCH: Dr. Oz Announces He’s Cutting Off Tim Walz’s Minnesota from Tens of Millions More in Funding

The Trump Administration is continuing to strike at the massive problem of Somali migrant fraud in Minnesota, and has indeed shut off Tim Walz from tens of millions of dollars more in Medicaid funding over ongoing fraud concerns that have remained unaddressed and unsolved by Gov. Walz.

Such is what Dr. Oz announced in an awesome video posted to X in which he reviewed the many cases of fraud that have been discovered in Minnesota and explained how the federal government will no longer idly sit by and watch taxpayer dollars be used to pay for such fraud that Walz refuses to address.

Beginning his video, the CMS Administrator explained what action is being taken to deal with the Minnesota fraud scandal, saying, “Today, CMS notified Governor Walz and the state of Minnesota that we are deferring an additional $91 million in federal Medicaid funding.”

Continuing, he reviewed the cases of fraud and noted that they aren’t just one-off problems, but rather systemic issues with Walz’s government. He said, “This follows a pattern we can’t ignore. From the “Learing Center” scandal to the recent DOJ action involving childcare centers, Minnesota’s Medicaid program has shown serious vulnerabilities to fraud. These are not isolated breakdowns—they point to systemic issues that must be addressed.”

Building on that, he then added that the federal government will not be continuing to foot the bill for Walz and fraud, saying, “Here’s the reality: the federal government funds roughly half of Medicaid. That gives CMS both the authority and the responsibility to ensure those dollars are spent legally and appropriately. When they’re not, we act.”

Continuing, he noted that this funding shut-off is on top of what he earlier cut the state off from, saying, “Earlier this year, after auditing Q4 FY2025 billing, we deferred over $250 million. Of the $91 million deferred: • $76 million is tied to 14 service categories highly vulnerable to fraud • $14 million involves program integrity concerns, including payments for ineligible individuals.”

Still not done, the CMS Administrator again noted that he would not be letting Gov. Walz continue to rip off American taxpayers by allowing such massive amounts of fraud, saying, “We’re giving Governor Walz as much support as we can to turn this around. However, we cannot and will not pay bad bills so we’re asking for more information from Minnesota to verify these bills.”

He then reiterated that point yet again, explaining that welfare is for needy Americans, not fraudsters. He said, “CMS will continue using every tool available to protect Medicaid’s integrity—because this program must serve the most vulnerable Americans, while honoring the trust of taxpayers. More updates to come.”

Concluding, he thanked Vice President JD Vance for Vance’s help in dealing with the situation and in rooting out fraud generally, saying, “As always, I’m grateful to @VP’s leadership as CMS plays its part in the whole-of-government effort to root out fraud.”
