A video clip of Jillian Turner of Fox News is exploding online after she revealed to popular host Bret Baier that the Trump administration is employing a clever strategy to nab illegal aliens at airports, a plan that the president will use for the remainder of his time in office. The news concerning the strategy was first reported on in an exclusive from The New York Times.
“Breaking right now, Brett. The New York Times reporting exclusively that they have viewed documents that reveal the Trump administration has begun arresting foreigners with expired U.S. visas as they are traveling through airports now, and this includes spouses of American citizens,” Turner told Baier.
“This is opening up a big pool for potential deportees here in the United States, all part of the president’s program moving forward for the rest of his term,” she concluded her news brief. The New York Times revealed that immigration agents, wearing plain clothes, have started whisking away targets while they are at check-in counters and arrival gates.
According to the report, enforcement actions have taken place at 15 airports in recent weeks. Some of the arrests happened quietly, while others were more disruptive as angry passengers used their phones to capture the encounters on video. The arrests are an expansion of an arrangement between the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The Times previously reported in December 2025 that ICE agents were taking people into custody with deportation orders at airports while being assisted by information provided by airlines to TSA agents. The report stated that a review based on documents and interviews from the Department of Homeland Security with lawyers representing over 25 people from over a dozen countries, the program has expanded to include individuals with expired visas.
There are hundreds of thousands of people in the United States who overstay their visas each year. In times past, people who have overstayed their visas were not prioritized for immigration enforcement and were rarely detained as they waited for visa extensions or green cards. However, that has now changed under the leadership of President Donald Trump.
“This administration is working diligently to ensure that aliens in our country illegally can no longer fly unless it is out of our country to self-deport,” a spokesperson for Homeland Security told the outlet. Comments on the Fox News video concerning the expansion of the program are largely supportive of the action being taken at airports across the country.
