WATCH: DeSantis Destroys Wokeness in Epic Inaugural Address

Two things have become very apparent since DeSantis first won the Florida gubernatorial race in 2018. First off, Florida has become the place where, to use DeSantis’ words, “wokeness goes to die.” It used to be a purple state, now it’s beet red and on the leading edge of the war against wokeness. Second, DeSantis has become a better public speaker. Though still not as charismatic as Trump, he’s gotten a good bit better at building energy when speaking and highlighting his achievements in an epic way.

Both of those major changes were immediately apparent in the inaugural speech DeSantis gave on January 3rd, when he once again highlighted that Florida is where wokeness goes to die and rallied some energy in his supporters with the speech. Watch it here:

Gov. Ron DeSantis: "We reject this woke ideology. We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy. We will not allow reality, facts, and truth, to become optional. We will never surrender to the woke mob. Florida is where woke goes to die!" pic.twitter.com/LRxpfcM9S6

As you can hear in the above video, DeSantis sounded off on wokeness and highlighted how Florida, thanks to his leadership and federalism enabling him to take a different tack, has done far better than woke states. In his words:

“Now it’s often said that our Federalist constitutional system, with 50 states able to pursue their own unique policies represents a laboratory of democracy. Well, these last few years have witnessed a great test of governing philosophies, as many jurisdictions pursued a much different path than we have pursued here and the state of Florida.

“The policies pursued by the states have sparked a mass exodus of productive Americans from these jurisdictions, with Florida serving as the most desired destination, a promised land of sanity. Many of the cities and states have embraced faddish ideology at the expense of enduring principles.

“They harm public safety by coddling criminals and attacking law enforcement. They impose unreasonable burdens on taxpayers to finance unfathomable levels of public spending. They have harmed education by subordinating the interests of students and parents to partisan interest groups. They have imposed medical authoritarianism in the guise of pandemic mandates and restrictions that lack a scientific basis.

“This bizarre but prevalent ideology that permeates these policy measures, purports to act in the name of justice for the marginalized, but it frowns upon American institutions. It rejects merit and achievement, and it advocates identity essentialism. We reject this woke ideology. We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy, we will not allow led facts and truth to become optional. We will never surrender to the woke mob.”

A powerful speech, one that showed why Florida’s fight against wokeness is important because of the horrible wages wokeness reaps, and a reminder to other governors around the nation that, because of federalism, they too can follow a different path and try to make the lives of their citizens better.

And, as a side note, DeSantis and his family, particularly his wife, Casey DeSantis, were looking far better than Biden, Dr. Jill and her weird dresses, and Hunter Biden the recovering crackhead. Here are two photos for comparison:

Good for DeSantis! He still might not be Trump, but he sure is doing a great job in Florida.
