WATCH: Democrats Freak Out Over Trump’s Efforts at Peace

Shortly after President Donald Trump met with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage on Friday, August 15, a slew of Democrats appeared on cable news to go berserk over the matter, with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) getting vulgar in his insults and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) clutching his pearls to attack the ida of peace.

Rep. Swalwell, the congressman who accidentally dated a People’s Republic of China spy named “Fang Fang,” for his part, took to MSNBC’s “The Weeknight” on Friday to declare, in his usual vulgar fashion, that President Donald Trump was a “Kremlin kiss ass” during the Anchorage, Alaska summit.

Beginning his tirade about President Trump’s efforts at peace in the Alaskan summit, Rep. Swalwell made his vulgar comment about the president’s relationship with the Russians, “If you’re a Republican in Congress, you just saw a Kremlin kiss ass in the president of the United States.”

Continuing, Rep. Swalwell insisted that the president should have tried to browbeat the Russian president instead of trying to find an acceptable deal for both parties, saying, “Somebody who squandered an opportunity to confront a ruthless dictator who is killing innocent children and kidnapping innocent children every single day. I don’t know what this meeting accomplished other than taking the Epstein files and inflation out of the news, but you have meetings like this to achieve objectives.”

Building on that with yet more of an angry rant about the meeting, Swalwell snapped, “You don’t just have meetings like this to gather the gang together. It was embarrassing to watch. It was frankly, more embarrassing than the Helsinki conference because he toasted Vladimir Putin as if he was receiving a lifetime achievement award, a total nothing burger, a waste of time.”

Concluding, Rep. Swalwell suggested that Trump is acting like a “Russian asset” and that soldiers will be upset about his push for peace, saying, “I don’t know if Donald Trump is or is not a Russian asset. I do know that at press conferences like this and like at Helsinki, he certainly acts like one. And that is cold comfort for anyone in the United States, particularly in our military, that the commander in chief would be so flattering of and so charming to a ruthless dictator like Vladimir Putin.”

Similarly angry about the president’s push for peace on Friday was Sen. Blumenthal, who appeared on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” and freaked out about Trump’s throwaway comment about President Putin being a “friend,” a clear attempt to build rapport with a minor comment.

Sen. Blumenthal said, in angry comments quite like Rep. Swalwell’s, “Nothing came out of this summit. It was a nothing burger. It was a shrug of the shoulders. But I will tell you, Anderson, my stomach turned when I heard the president of the United States characterize Vladimir Putin as his fabulously good friend. Vladimir Putin is a war criminal. He has directed soldiers to kill women and children and bury them in mass graves. He’s kidnapping children as we speak. The reality on the ground is that people are bleeding and dying all around Ukraine because Putin is continuing to bomb them. And at the front, he’s continuing to pummel the brave Ukrainian soldiers.”

Further, Sen. Blumenthal added, “He doesn’t want peace. The only way to convince him to stop this diplomatic rope-a-dope, playing the president and delaying any kind of ceasefire, is through strength.” He also said that his “stomach turned” when President Donald Trump called Russian President Vladimir Putin his good friend, telling Cooper, “My stomach turned when I heard the president of the United States characterize Vladimir Putin as his fabulously good friend. Vladimir Putin is a war criminal.”
