WATCH: Democrat Senator Ditches His Party and Schumer’s Stance to Back Trump

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) revealed during an interview with Fox News that he would be voting against a Democratic war powers resolution, which was initially announced by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on April 8, 2026, breaking with his party and its leadership in order to support President Donald Trump and Operation Epic Fury in Iran.

If the resolution is passed by lawmakers, it will require the president to receive congressional approval before being able to continue his efforts to decimate the oppressive Iranian regime’s ability to create nuclear weapons and continue its deadly, hateful assaults against Israel. “Now I’m reading that they’re now having to force another, you know, war powers vote,” Fetterman stated.

And I will vote against that now because we have to stand by our military to allow them to accomplish, you know, the goals of Epic Fury,” the Democratic senator said. Fetterman then discussed how the military operation the administration launched against Iran is not yet complete and should be given an opportunity to be finished.

“As you discussed, and I agree it’s not, it’s not finished yet. But now, where we are now, we are 38 days into it. I mean, the Ukrainian war is over four years. You know, all these other kinds of conflicts are years. We’re not even 40 days in yet. So where are we at right now? Yes, it’s like, if you make these kinds of, of, let’s go for the 25th Amendment, and then you know, we have a ceasefire. Then it’s like ‘Taco, taco, taco,'” Fetterman continued.

The left-wing “Taco” meme against President Trump stands for “Trump Always Chickens Out,” and is an attempt by radical liberals to insult him for allegedly making threats and not following through on them. Many conservatives balk at the term, stating that much of the tough-talk from the president is a psychological strategy to achieve his goals.

Fetterman then hammered his colleagues in the Democratic Party for being gleeful at Operation Epic Fury’s objectives not being completed and essentially rooting against the success of a mission that would make the United States and the world a safer place. “I mean, so where we are, it’s like strange to be gleeful, gleeful that, you know that we still have to accomplish some things and make these kinds of statements,” he told Fox.

I mean, you know, I’m old enough to remember we used to root for our military, and we would all agree that Iran is the world’s leading terrorism underwriter,” the Pennsylvania Democrat went on to say. I mean, they are part of the evil empire. I mean, remember what Iran’s done.” During his press conference on Wednesday to announce another war powers vote, Schumer stated his belief that no president should take the country to war without the approval of Congress.

“No president, Democrat or Republican, should take this country to war alone. Not now, not ever,” the senator said to members of the press. “Republicans will once again have the opportunity to join Democrats and end this reckless war of choice.” However, much to Schumer’s chagrin, since the GOP holds the majority in the Senate, the resolution will likely be defeated.
