WATCH: Democrat Lawmaker Goes on Wild Rant Demanding DHS Lock Up More White People

Democratic New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver blew her top on June 3, 2026 over the fact that, according to her, the Department of Homeland Security is not tossing enough white illegal aliens behind bars or booting them out of the country. McIver went on to lob accusations at DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin of being a racist because every illegal alien that has been detained at Delaney Hall, an immigration detention center in Newark, New Jersey is non-white.

What McIver failed to mention in her rant is that data shows that over 80% of illegal immigrants in the country are non-white. “Secretary Mullin, you talk about racism a lot in today’s hearing. You know what’s racist? The fact that every detainee in Delaney Hall is a person of color,” McIver said. “The cruelty runs to the top of DHS, weaponizing the immigration system for your president and this administration’s racist grievances.”

Data from the Migration Policy Institute reveals that only 7% of illegal aliens come from Europe, Canada, and Oceania. The vast majority, 68%, originate from Mexico and Central America, with 12% coming from South America. Local law enforcement officers arrested hundreds of rioters outside Delaney Hall, all of whom claim that the illegal immigrants being detained there are experiencing inhumane conditions.

According to a report from The Daily Caller via AOL said that Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents allegedly attacked peaceful protesters and made a call for conditions at the facility to be improved. “My number one priority will always be public safety, and I remain dedicated to protecting constitutional rights,” Sherrill said.

“We simply cannot let ICE surge into our community. I do not know why these individuals attacked or what they wanted to accomplish, but I refuse to let these dangerous actions detract from New Jersey’s dedication to ensuring public safety, keeping people safe from ICE, and that the people detained inside Delaney Hall are treated with dignity,” she added.

McIver was indicted by a grand jury in June 2025 for allegedly assaulting and interfering with federal law enforcement officers outside Delaney Hall on May 9, 2025. The congresswoman was accused of pushing and slamming her forearm into federal agents as she and a group of lawmakers tried to conduct a congressional oversight visit during an immigration protest.

Prosecutors brought charges against McIver on May 19, 2025. Not surprisingly, she pleaded not guilty, accusing the prosecution of engaging in lawfare, which is politically motivated use of the justice system. However, judges have repeatedly refused to toss out the charges. “The charges against me are purely political — they mischaracterize and distort my actions, and are meant to criminalize and deter legislative oversight,” McIver went on to say in May.

“This administration will never stop me from working for the people in our district and standing up for what is right. I am thankful for the outpouring of support I have received and I look forward to the truth being laid out clearly in court,” the congresswoman added. If she is convicted, McIver could potentially face a maximum of 17 years behind bars.
