Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick recently sounded off on the left, questioning how America got to a point where expressing patriotism is a partisan act. In comments at a Turning Point USA conference, Patrick illustrated how it is easy to discern whether someone is a Republican or Democrat based on their outward expression of American pride.
Speaking to the crowd of conservatives, Patrick said, “Don’t you guys find it amazing that you can say, I love this country, and it means you’re Republican, that you can wear an American flag, and it means you’re Republican. Why aren’t these things American?” The video has been shared on social media, garnering a massive reaction from conservatives.
Reacting to Patrick’s powerful comment, one person wrote, “She’s been a advocate for common sense and government doing the right thing. The Dems have not been for common sense or government doing the right thing. Sadly, we’ve experienced it first hand so many policies were not in the best interests of the people but their own ideology.”
Another person commented, “Exactly! Why is it the right seems to mean We love AMERICA!? Shouldn’t We all want our Country to be better? No one can think we’re in a good place now. But it’s COMING THANK GOD! Trump& Team ASAP LUV2ALL. Maybe it will Unite us all once they see.🇺🇸🙏♥️✝️🌎”
Applauding Patrick for standing firm in her beliefs and patriotism, another person wrote, “When I was younger, I thought you were mean as a snake. Then I grew up and realized that you were a woman standing her ground in a male dominated sport. Thank you for staying strong and standing up for your fellow citizens. 🇺🇸🫡🏁”
The American Tribune reported on other comments from Patrick, where she refused to shy away from expressing her love of America and her Republican values. The former racer delivered the remarks at a Pennsylvania Trump rally in the lead-up to the election. “I want to live in a country where I can say I love this country. I’m not making a political stand. I want to wear a t-shirt that says proud American, and it doesn’t say it isn’t telling people that I’m making a political stand about being a Republican,” she said, speaking to the crowd.
Patrick further pointed out that simple acts such as displaying the American flag have now become politicized. “When I was a kid, I wore this cool leather jacket with an American flag on the back and USA on the arm. Somebody out there has had that right? If I wore that today, I’d be making a political stand. Why is that happening? Why is that not just being an American?” she asked.

“We’re not living in a time of Republican-Democrat we’re living in good versus evil, we’re living in right versus wrong. And I want to be on the right side of that history, because this is the most important decision that we will see in our life is getting Donald Trump into office,” she said.
