At the historic parade, which marked the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025, President Donald Trump, celebrating his 79th birthday, was serenaded with “Happy Birthday” by the adoring crowd. Additionally, Trump was presented with a U.S. flag flown over the Capitol by a young Army officer.
Despite the positive and patriotic event’s popularity, Democrats cynically used the event as a prop in their anti-Trump agenda. Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) condemned the event as a “military vanity show,” and others, such as Rep. Steve Cohen, proposed legislation to block taxpayer funding for such celebrations.
Reacting to the patriotic display, Sen. Adam Schiff whined, “I’m horrified by the parade, because this is not about honoring our military. It’s a military vanity show for a president who’s long wanted to have tanks rolling down the streets of our nation’s capital.”
Continuing the Democratic opposition, infamous Governor of California Gavin Newsom said, “Trump’s parade is nothing more than a vulgar demonstration of just how weak he is. It’s the kind of thing you see with Kim Jong Un, Putin — dictators around the world that are weak and desperate. It’s as small as it gets. But that’s Donald Trump.”
Setting the story straight, prominent conservative Kristina Wong tweeted, “I feel sad for people trying to say no one showed up to watch the parade. Many and all kinds of people showed up and had a great time while you hate-scrolled from home.”
Adding his reaction, Vice President JD Vance said,” Great parade and fireworks show in honor of the Army’s 250th anniversary. Congratulations and thank you to all of our great soldiers!” In the comments under his post, conservatives chimed in to celebrate the monumental occasion.
One such comment read, “Thank you to @realDonaldTrump, @JDVance and @PeteHegseth
for the outstanding military parade for the US Army’s 250th birthday. This administration is the only one that has been respectful enough to the military, to publicly and in grand fashion shown to the country and the world the pride our Commander-in Chief has for the US Army.”

Continuing, the same user wrote, “The whole event was spectacular from beginning to end. It made me wish that I was a younger man still serving in the Army. I would have been honored to serve under this administration, as I was serving during three other Republican administrations.🇺🇲🫡👍😎💯🇺🇸”
Agreeing, another user said, “The parade was awesome! Loved seeing our Army’s history come alive with period uniforms. It was a great history lesson for the kids and a powerful display of patriotism! 🇺🇸” Building on this point, another said, “Great parade, and don’t forget to cherish our military members. America First means not sending our military into another useless conflict in the Middle East.”

Rounding out the comments, one woman noted, “What a fantastic celebration! Loved the historic uniforms honoring our history! Made me tear up seeing my generations of patriots pass before my eyes. Remembering those who fought for our freedom! Heroes all, American warriors! God Bless them all!”
