Grammy Award-winning country star Gretchen Wilson received praise earlier this year after performing the national anthem at a rally for former President Donald Trump ahead of his successful campaign, which decisively defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in a complete landslide. Wilson also spoke at the rally, endorsing Trump and explaining how the Democratic Party has abandoned average Americans.
“My name again is Gretchen Wilson; I’m a midwesterner; I come from a very small town in southern Illinois; I grew up very much like Sen. J.D. Vance,” she told the audience. Wilson emphasized her upbringing, explaining how she, like Vance, fought to bring herself out of poverty. She added, “I had to work hard and fight my way out of poverty, just like many other Americans have done. But this is what I was taught to do: To earn my way.”
Speaking about her achievements she said, “Since then, I’ve done the impossible. I am now a Grammy Award-winning country music artist, a producer, a songwriter, and most importantly, a mom.” Wilson asserted, “I’m here today to entertain you, but I’m also here today to show my support for the only team in this race that is telling you the truth.”
“As a songwriter, I pay close attention to words,” she said to the Wisconsin Trump supporters. “The words that are being used, and the words that are not being used. I urge all Americans to pay close attention to what you are hearing and not hearing from the media, because the issues that are most important for our survival are what we’re voting on.”
Wilson emphasized that the Trump-Vance campaign was the only logical choice for preserving and reviving the The American dream, which she claimed would be destroyed if “if we do not show up and vote for freedom in November.” She added, “Let’s make sure we the people do all we can to save our country by voting for President Trump and J.D. Vance.”
The country singer acknowledged that she descended from a family of staunch “Kennedy Democrats,” but things have since changed. “Now, back in the day, my family were all Kennedy Democrats, but that’s when the Democrats were on the side of the people,” she told the audience. “Once I started paying attention to what was really going on, I realized the Democratic Party left us.”

The American Tribune reported on comments from Jason Aldean earlier this year where he urged his audience to take action and vote. “It’s a crazy a** time when the media makes me out to be the a**hole for calling out people doing stupid s**t. … This country is crazy. It’s gotten really weird over the last few years and I will say this: November is a huge month for our country. Huge month,” he said.
“I’m telling you, it’s a big deal. It’s a really big deal and I see a lot of people b***hing about the state of the country. They don’t like what’s going on. That kind of thing. If you don’t get out and vote, you got no right to b***h about the outcome of the election. If you want to see some s**t change, then get out. It takes 30 minutes out of your day,” the singer emphasized.
