Finding an outspoken conservative in Hollywood is rare. Finding one in the media is almost as rare. Finding one in the music industry, minus country music, is almost unheard of. While much of country music is considered conservative, rock and roll and pop music are nearly devoid of any outspoken personalities. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, but there is also a primarily common thread.
When you think of conservative rockers, probably Ted Nugent and Alice Cooper are the first to come to mind. However, they share a commonality in their ages. Neither artist is likely to appeal to anyone under the age of 40. While much of the messaging of rock has always been about rebellion and freedom, in the age of social media, many fans are learning that their heroes don’t practice the freedom they preach.
One who does, however, is Staind frontman and country solo artist Aaron Lewis. As a rocker, Lewis fronted one of the biggest rock bands of its era, Staind. As a rocker, Lewis’ sensibilities have lain with pain, addiction, and longing, cultivating a string of massive hits in the 2010s. The band still records and tours today, and so does Lewis as a country artist.
In fact, as a country artist, Lewis is an outspoken conservative. Much of his music is pro-America and American values. However, unlike many of Nashville’s bigger country artists, he isn’t afraid to openly call out Joe Biden, China, and the woke left. In his newest single, which was just released called “Made In China,” Aaron Lewis does precisely that.
In the song, which features a country twang and steel guitars reminiscent more of the 60s than 2024, Lewis talks proudly of being as “American as it gets” while only seconds later calling out the CCP by saying, “I ain’t made by Uyghur kids for pennies on the dollar.” It isn’t often you see lyrics and imagery as scathing as this and still be wrapped in downhome charm and Patriotism.
Lewis talked openly about the process behind “Made in China.” He said: “The best songs come from a place of authenticity. This one started as a conversation with friends as we picked up items around the room with ‘Made IN China’ stamped on the bottom. And we put pen to paper.” The rest of the album is packed with American symbolism and conservative values. “Let’s Go Fishing” even sees the 51-year-old crossover hitmaker slip “Let’s Go Brandon” hilariously in the song.
Lewis rebukes the criticism from the left that he is just an uneducated rocker turned conservative country star. He said: “I’m not uneducated; I’m actually really smart, and I look for myself. I seek other options of information. I refuse to believe that a huge, gigantic corporation has our best interest in mind.” He also doesn’t get his news from CNN. He added: “I have news feeds and people that I follow on Telegram. Dan Ball. Andrew Wilkow. Mark Levin. If I’m gonna watch any sort of news source on television, it’s Tucker Carlson.”
Aaron Lewis is the left’s worst nightmare: a conservative who thinks for himself and has a platform. Like Aaron Rodgers, Elon Musk, Outkick founder Clay Travis, Joe Rogan, and other conservative celebrities, the legacy media is terrified of their message and their popularity, which makes it doubly important to support proud patriots like Aaron Lewis.
