In a popular social media post, Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) reassured the public about the steps the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was taking to secure Social Security by exposing major fraud and prosecuting criminals who take advantage of the program.
For context, DOGE has spent numerous hours investigating fraud and waste within the Social Security Administration (SSA). This vital program, which many conservative seniors use, has been plagued by rampant fraud and inefficiency, making it an ideal target for DOGE reforms.
Such was shown when MTG posted a video of her answering a question on her official X account. Starting off the clip, a journalist asked, “Why is MTG supporting Musk and Doge and the slashing of Medicaid, Social Security offices, libraries, and more?”
Immediately firing back at the disrespectful journalist, the Republican replied, “This is outrageous from Sarah, well, Sarah, unfortunately, you’re being brainwashed by the news that you’re watching. And you know, a lot of Democrats pride themselves on being educated, and I suggest they educate themselves better, because I showed you a video in the beginning.”
Continuing her epic response, MTG said, “I wish you could have seen the whole clip of Barack Obama literally talking about what we call today, DOGE, and so Sarah, if you supported Barack Obama as your president, which I’m sure you did.”
Slamming the woke reporter, she declared, “Then, I’m sure you support Elon Musk and dodge as well. Now, as far as Medicaid, Social Security, libraries, and more, what we’re doing is we’re removing waste, fraud, and abuse, and there’s nothing more important we can do for you as Americans to protect your Social Security than get rid of the criminals that are stealing it.”
Concluding her remarks. Greene said, “We have to make sure that we protect Social Security. We’re not cutting Social Security. We’re not cutting Medicare. This was a promise from President Trump and Republicans like myself on the campaign trail, and we will live up to that promise, and no one has lost their benefits.”

In the caption to her April 17, 2025, post, she wrote, “Your benefits are safe. DOGE has found over 9.9 million people wrongfully drawing social security. DOGE protects benefits like Medicare, Medicaid, & Social Security from criminals who STEAL taxpayer dollars!”
In the comments under her post, conservatives showed their support for the courageous MTG. One such comment said, “Every dollar stolen from the program is a dollar stolen from seniors and disabled Americans who rely on it. The real threat isn’t reform; it’s letting fraudsters loot the system while politicians pretend there’s no problem.”
