WATCH: Congress Finally Takes Action to Codify Trump’s Moves Into Law

In a stunning moment from the floor of the House, Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna (CA) crossed party lines to endorse Trump’s new executive order slashing the prices of prescription drugs by up to 80%. This is a potentially monumental event for the President, as defections could weaken the already faltering Democratic Party.

For context, while most Democrats have fallen into deep Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), some moderates, such as Khanna and Senator John Fetterman, have made the wise decision to ally themselves with President Trump. This trend not only emphasizes Trump’s strong political acumen but also his charismatic leadership.

In any case, the Democrat made his remarks in a May 14, 2025, House hearing. He said, “Mr. Speaker, I rise today to introduce as legislation President Trump’s executive order for the most favored nation status on drug pricing. My legislation will codify President Trump’s executive order, which basically says that Americans should not pay more for drugs than people in other countries and other parts of the world.”

Continuing to defend Trump’s EO, he added, “Right now, we’re paying two to three times more for our drugs than people in other industrialized nations. Now, this executive order, codified by the legislation, will allow our cabinet secretaries to put pressure on Big Pharma and make sure that they are not price gouging and will allow for the importation of cheaper drugs.”

Still not done with his epic endowment, the Democrat continued. He stated, “So you ask, why do we need the legislation? Because the reality is that big pharma will sue for the executive order like they did in the previous Trump administration, and in the previous administration, they managed to kill the executive order.”

Hammering away at big pharma, Khanna declared, “The only way we can stand up to Big Pharma is to codify legislation what the President wants to do in an executive order. So here’s the deal: if I can cross the aisle and support President Trump’s executive order in legislation, every Republican should be willing to cross the aisle and support my legislation. It’s a pretty simple test.”

Concluding his remarks, the California politician said, “Are we going to stand in this body with the $16 billion that big pharma spent on lobbying, or are we going to stand with the American people? We will know that answer based on how many co-sponsors we get for my legislation that simply codifies Donald Trump’s executive order.”

Reacting to the news, conservatives took to social media to express their reactions. One prominent conervative voice said, “🚨 #BREAKING: Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna has just filed to CODIFY President Trump’s executive order lowering prescription drug prices Literal DEMOCRATS are filing to codify Trump’s orders faster than House Republicans WTF @HouseGOP?”

In the comments under the post, one commentator was blown away. The user said, “Unreal. I appreciate what Khanna is doing here, and I am even more embarrassed to be a Republican – our own Republican president is needing a Democrat to come vouch for him, not his own party? And what about the midterms? How do we keep control if one of the things Democrats can run on in 2026 is, “Oh, look, we helped President Trump with his drug pricing order!” Too late now. They got beat to this one.”
