Recently, conservative comedian Rob Schneider hilariously rebuked an offended heckler in the audience during his show. During Schneider’s set, a man in the crowd was clearly upset by a joke that was told, leading the man to shout at the comedian. However, instead of apologizing to the patron, Schneider informed him that freedom of speech trumps his feelings.
Schneider asked the heckler, “Everything, okay? Are you mad? You okay?” He continued, outlining the purpose of free speech. “You’re mad. That’s okay. Just, you know what the cool thing about in America is free speech isn’t the speech you like, nice stuff’s not what needs to be protected.” Schneider illustrated that speech cannot be censored because it offends some.
He added, “It’s the stuff that you hate. it needs to protection so that somebody like the government or you doesn’t get to decide what everybody else gets to hear you.” Schneider concluded by informing the heckler that if he was so offended, he was welcome to try and sell out a comedy show and do his own act. “And you’re more than welcome to disagree and write an act, and get on stage and sell out, like I just did,” he said.\
The popular conservative meme account on X, I Meme Therefore I Am, shared the footage, writing, “Rob Schneider puts snowflake in his place.” Another person commented, “What he’s doing is heroic. He put his career in jeopardy to make a stand against all this woke nonsense, which is more than we can say for the majority of his Hollywood peers. Mad respect for him.”
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Schneider defending free speech after he was asked to finish a Canadian show early over an offensive joke. However, refusing to apologize for his comedy, Schneider claimed the backlash indicated that he was “doing it right.” The comedian and actor defended the right to free speech, which has come under attack in recent years. “The thing about free speech is, free speech is all speech. Free speech isn’t for the nice stuff. It isn’t for the socially acceptable stuff. Free speech is the speech that challenges you,” he said.
“Free speech is the not-nice stuff. Easy speech or speech that’s acceptable to everybody doesn’t need any protection. I’m there to challenge the audience,” he said, explaining his comedic mission. “People get upset about things now. And that’s OK,” he said. “I think the more challenging the comedy is and society is, the more interesting the stand-up and art is going to be.”
Outside of the realm of comedy, Schneider has increasingly offered political commentary as well. The comedian recently took to social media urging his followers to support Trump in the upcoming election after RFK Jr. dropped ohttps://theamericantribune.com/comedian-rob-schneider-says-he-supports-trump-urges-other-rfk-jr-voters-to-do-the-same/ut of the race. “Dear Fellow Robert Kennedy Jr. supporters and American Citizens, As we have seen this week, ONCE AGAIN the Democratic Party is NOT running on any ideas to make American’s lives better, they are once again running on the hatred of one individual, Donald J Trump,” he wrote.

Schneider continued, “And they are hoping that YOU will HATE him so much that you will forget about the Democrat’s FOREVER WARS that are pushing the world closer to World War III, they are hoping that you forget about your grocery bills being 26% higher since Biden/Harris took office.”
