WATCH: CNN Personality Claims There Will Be “Russian Tanks Rolling Through Europe” if Trump Reelected

What will happen if former President Donald Trump manages to win the 2024 election and oust President Joe Biden from the White House? According to CNN personality Van Jones, a Trump victory will mean that the Russian military will rumble through Europe, with Russian tanks rolling down the streets of Western Europe’s famous cities.

That wild contention came as Van Jones discussed the election and geopolitical situation with CNN’s Jim Acosta, with the two particularly focusing on the Russo-Ukrainian War and what could result both in it and with Russia’s other neighbors if Trump wins. Predictably, both were apoplectic about what the results of such an event would be.

Van Jones, commenting on the situation, began by saying that it was a “heartbreaking moment” for the Ukrainians that neocon Nikki Haley dropped out, presumably because of her much more favorable view of American involvement in the region. “From my heart, I tell you, this is a heartbreaking moment, and not just for people in the United States,” Jones began.

He continued, “If you’re a Ukrainian soldier, looking at a wall of Russians coming at you, and having to ration your bullets, today is a bad day because one of the great champions of the United States being strong for our allies, strong for democracy, just went down in defeat today. And you feel more alone and more afraid of the future. If you’re in Poland, if you’re in Europe, and you’re looking at a wall of Russians coming for you, and saying, where’s the United States?”

Van Jones then brought up the usual “democracy” talking point, saying that Haley’s dropping out was a bad day for “democracy” generally. “Today is not a good day. This is a bad day for democracy. Not just in the United States, but around the world.” He did not explain how voters preferring one candidate to another and voting for that candidate was bad for “democracy” in the abstract.

Acosta picked up there, asking how Biden could win over those who supported Haley. He asked, “What does President Biden need to do at this point to earn those Nikki Haley supporters, bring them into the fold? We saw the Biden campaign putting out a statement from President Biden almost immediately after Nikki Haley walked off that stage in South Carolina. What do you think?”

It was in response to that question that Van Jones claimed that a Trump 2024 win would mean that Russian tanks will roll through the great streets of Europe. He claimed, “I think he needs to talk to her donors and her supporters and say, if you want to, a year from now, watch Russian tanks rolling through Europe, then, you know, endorse Donald Trump and get on that bandwagon.”

Continuing, he said that America would find itself in what sounded like World War III, saying, “But understand, you’re going to wake up one morning and you’re going to see horror across Europe and you’re going to have American soldiers, sailors having to go over there and do something that we could have done with dollars, we have to do with blood.”
