WATCH: CNN Personality Admits that the Brandon Condition Coverup was “Worse than Watergate”

In a jaw-dropper of a book tour comment, CNN anchor Jake Tapper went on the attack against the Biden White House, claiming that the decision of the former president’s aides to conceal his significant cognitive decline was so bad and important that it was “maybe even worse than Watergate.”

For reference, the comments from Tapper came as he promoted his new book, Original Sin, a tell-all from the 2024 campaign that he co-authored alongside Axios reporter Alex Thompson. In the book, Tapper exposes the various ways by which the Biden Administration covered up his significant and severe cognitive decline.

So, appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored with host Piers Morgan on Monday, May 26, Tapper sounded off the president’s aides and the general coverup of the president’s quite apparent decline, with Morgan broaching the matter by asking if the book had been too soft on the former president’s aides.

Doing so, Morgan said, “This brings me to your conclusion.” Continuing by reading from the book, Morgan read out, “‘Joe Biden is not Richard Nixon, and the hiding and cover up of his deterioration is not Watergate.’ He then added that Tapper might have been worse than Watergate, saying, “I am not entirely sure I agree, Jake, with that conclusion.”

Tapper, for his part, replied by saying that the line Morgan read out was taken somewhat out of context, and in context it admits that the Biden coverup was perhaps a worse scandal. The CNN personality said, “The next line is, ‘It is an entirely separate scandal’. It is a scandal. It is without question, and maybe even worse than Watergate in some ways.”

Continuing, Tapper noted that he does think this is separate from the Nixon scandal, as Nixon was at least reasonably mentally competent most of the time, quite unlike Bidne, and so the Biden coverup put America more at risk. He said, “Because Richard Nixon was in control of his faculties when he was not drinking… We don’t mean to exonerate.”

Agreeing, Morgan told him that he does think the Biden coverup, with aides covering for Biden and his significant mental decline even as conservative media did its best to point out the problem, was indeed a worse scandal than Watergate. He said, “I think, arguably, it is worse actually.”

At another point, Morgan asked Tapper about “one line that just sprang out to me” in the book. Quoting from it, he said, “A longtime [Joe] Biden aide says ‘He just had to win and then he could disappear for four years. He’d only have to show proof of life every once in a while.’” Tapper, agreeing with Morgan that the quote was a massive deal, said, “It’s stunning.”

Further, speaking to Megyn Kelly about the matter, Tapper admitted, “Knowing what I know now, obviously I feel tremendous humility about my coverage.” He then admitted, quite momentously, that “conservative media was correct” in how it reported on Biden’s decline and the coverup surrounding it.

He further added, “There should be a lot of soul-searching not just among me but among the legacy media to begin with – all of us – for how this was covered or not covered sufficiently. I wish I could do differently.” Then, apologizing, he said, “I feel like I owe the American people an acknowledgement that I wish I had covered the story better.”
