Going berserk and spreading lies in an absurd segment of her “CNN NewsNight” show on CNN, woke host Abby Phillip got into a heated argument with former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) when Walker called out her lies about Trump, DOGE, and Elon Musk to her face.
As background, Phillip’s fury and claims about what the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) appeared to have been sparked by comments Elon Musk and others associated with DOGE made about Social Security and Medicaid benefits at a recent town hall event. They explained that fraud would be rooted out, which Phillip disingenuously claimed meant that benefits would be cut.
Kicking things off by lying about what Elon and his fellow DOGE staffers claimed about the massive amount of fraud that has been draining and pilfering Social Security for years, Phillip said that, during the town hall, Elon “talked about cutting Medicaid and Social Security through DOGE.”
Walker immediately and vociferously called out her lie. Pushing back on her claims about Musk and DOGE wanting to slash Social Security benefits, he said, “Actually, he never talked about that. He explicitly said in Green Bay he would not cut Social Security. That’s exactly what he said.”
Then, when Walker claimed that Musk described cutting Medicaid and Social Security at “his rallies,” Walker sounded off and noted that he said no such thing, whatsoever. He snapped at Phillip: “No, no. Other people said that. But I was there. I watched him. He did not say he was going to cut Medicaid.”
Phillip then pressed Walker on whether it was a risky strategy for Musk to be talking about the entitlement programs, to which Walker responded by saying, “There are when people believe the lies that people are saying about that. That’s not at all what they said. If people believe that Medicaid and Medicare is going to be touched, that’s a flat outright lie.”
Walker then added that the sort of fraud that has been draining Social Security and the other programs is obscene and hugely destructive, telling Phillip, “What he talked about was people who are over 120 years old who clearly are not alive, getting Social Security or Medicaid benefits. That’s totally wrong. I think Democrats even believe that.”

Watch him here:
Musk, for his part, said during the rally that the Social Security program would be protected, not cut, by the anti-fraud measures DOGE is taking. He said, “In fact, what we’re doing will help their benefits. Legitimate people, as a result of the work of DOGE, will receive more Social Security, not less.”
He then reiterated that same point, explaining that he thinks the legitimate recipients will, once the fraudsters are cut out, receive more money from the program. He said, “I want to emphasize that: as a result of the work of DOGE, legitimate recipients of Social Security will receive more money, not less money.” Concluding, he added, “I want to emphasize that point, and let the record show that I said this, and it will be proven out to be true.”
