The Trump Administration Department of Justice (DOJ) is taking major action to hold various allegedly corrupt or otherwise lawbreaking Democrats accountable for their crimes, which most recently meant securing a federal grand jury indictment against far-left New York Attorney General Letitia James, the infamous tormentor of President Donald Trump. As could be expected, the left, including CNN, is freaking out.
Such became apparent when Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) appeared on CNN and sparred with host Dana Bash over the administration’s efforts to hold Swamp creatures like Letitia James and James Comey accountable for their crimes, with Bash claiming it is “weaponization” of justice and Jordan claiming that it is just the DOJ holding those who tried to weaponize the government against conservatives accountable for having done so.
Kicking off the conversation, Bash noted that President Trump had posted on Truth Social calling for various Deep State apparatchiks to be held accountable, and now they are being held accountable, asking whether that counts as “weaponization” of the goverment of the sort that Rep. Jordan and his subcommittee on weaponization of the federal government will be investigating.
Firing back, Jordan noted that this is clearly a case of the DOJ applying the facts and the law as appropriate to hold wrongdoers accountable. He snapped, giving an example, “This Justice Department is applying the facts to the law. I mean, if . . . a federal judge thought there was probable cause when they searched John Bolton’s house…that he mishandled classified information.”
Continuing, he explained that the judge should “apply the fact of the law” and that “We’ll see if they prosecute there,” suggesting that it is still up in the air if the DOJ goes after Bolton as many conservatives want it too. That’s when Rep. Jordan got to calling out Letitia James and her alleged crimes.
Doing so, he said that NY AG James almost certainly broke the law, as is clearly established by the facts, and needs to be held accountable for it, saying, “We know with Letitia James, for example, that you can’t say it’s your secondary residence and then, in fact, making an investment property. It looks like she did that. They’re applying the facts to the law.”
Then, explaining that there is a similarly compelling factual basis for prosecuting Comey, Rep. Jordan said, “And of course, we know with Jim Comey that he specifically hired this individual, Daniel Richman, to leak information. He laundered information through Richmond. Leaked that information out there. The Comey memos, for goodness sake, went through Mr. Richmond, and then Comey, when he testifies, says something different. So that’s why he’s being prosecuted.”

Using those examples to note that this is justice instead of Biden-style weaponization of the justice system, Jordan then said, “So this is our Justice Department under the leadership of the Attorney General, applying the facts to the law like you were supposed to, not the weaponization of government, like we saw under Biden, like we saw under Merrick Garland, like we saw with Chris Wray, so this is, I think, completely different situation.”
Bash and Jordan then repeatedly butted heads over that sitaution, with Bash insisting that holding lawbreakers accountable is “weaponization” if they are leftists, and Jordan insisting that what is happening is fully justified by the facts of the cases.
Returning to the matter of Comey, for example, he said, “This is about applying the facts to the law, and that’s exactly what’s taking place in this justice department. You cannot argue with the fact Jim Comey said one thing to under oath in front of the United States Congress. That’s what he’s being charged for false statements to the Congress, 18 USC, 1001. You cannot argue that he did that, particularly when you know the facts from the Inspector General.”
