In another dosage of absolute absurdity out of CNN, “OutFront,” host Erin Burnett went berserk and, ridiculously, blamed the formerly Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for the recent terror incidents that have occurred in the wake of Operation Epic Fury and have horrified the nation.
For reference, four terror attacks occurred in a week, with all proving relatively ineffective. A terrorist was stopped by ROTC students when he attacked Old Dominion University, two bomb-throwers were arrested in New York City when they tried blowing up an anti-Islamism rally, a truck attack on a synagogue, and a gunman attacked a bar in Austin, Texas.
CNN, however, didn’t want to comment on the Islamist nature of the attacks. Instead, Erin Burnett insisted that the real reason these quickly stopped attacks, some of which involved migrants who entered or reentered America under Biden, occureed is that there was “so much chaos, of course, after DOGE and other things.”
That came after CNN Senior Law Enforcement Analyst and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe commented on what he argued is a heightened threat environment in America due to, amongst other things, Operation Epic Fury against Iran and the potential for domestic “sleeper cells” to start attacking America.
He said, commenting on the sleeper cell issue, “It’s been considered, for many, many years, that we might come to the point of hostilities with Iran. And, for that reason, the FBI developed a plan, years ago, of exactly how they would go about assessing the threat climate across the country relative to if hostilities broke out.”
Continuing, McCabe noted that only now is the FBI dealing with people it suspected of being threats years ago, raising the question of why they weren’t just arrested in the first place. He said, “Well, we’re there. It’s time to take that plan off the shelf and start making sure that we’re doing some of those things that we thought about doing many years ago, contacting sources, reviving old cases, finding people from other — from cases that are over, people who had served their time, and recontacting them.”
He then noted that such roundups and crackdowns are likely in what the FBI is currently engaging as it attempts to put a lid on the attacks before serious ones start to occur, saying, “So, this is the sort of activity that we expect, and we hope that the bureau’s engaged in right now. I’m sure they are. And we are likely to see more of this.”

That is when Burnett insisted that DOGE is responsible for the attacks because of “chaos”, a ridiculous point that failed to even address why the FBI under Biden or before hadn’t been arresting potential sleeper cell agents. She said, “Yeah, but it’s time, of course, with so much chaos, of course, after DOGE and other things.”
Burnett then noted that the individual who attacked Old Dominion University was “on the FBI radar for years, … one special agent saying that his ties to ISIS — the shooter’s — kept him up at night.” Unaddressed was that he could have been dealt with in any of those years, which came well before DOGE.
