WATCH: CNN Debate Moderator Blasts Dems for Using Orwellian Tactics To Cover Up, Spin Biden’s Debate Disaster

In a somewhat surprising turn of events after the disastrous (for Biden) debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, CNN personality and debate moderator Jake Tapper accused Democrats of engaging in what he seemed to characterize as Orwellian tactics in an attempt to cover up Biden’s debate disaster and spin how it went.

Particularly, Tapper, when speaking during his opening monologue on the Monday, July 1, broadcast of “The Lead,” said that the Democrat politicians and media are being disingenuous in how they are downplaying how bad the debate was for Biden and in how they have been willfully ignoring the cognitive decline of President Biden.

Speaking about the matter, Tapper argued that there is a pattern of the left trying to hide what happened, saying, “there is a pattern, discernible pattern, of Democratic officials seemingly trying to convince you, the public, to not believe what you saw and what you heard with your eyes and with your ears on Thursday night.”

Continuing, Tapper played a compilation of Biden’s worst debate moments. He then noted, commenting on how the left has tried to cover up the disaster, “Democratic officials have tried to spin this in many ways. They said President Biden just had a cold. They said it was just one off night, akin to when President Obama in 2012 was rusty and seemed a little huffy.”

He then noted that those same people noted how badly Biden did behind closed doors, though they won’t admit it in public. He said, “behind the scenes, make no mistake, most Democratic officials witnessed the same shocking spectacle that you did, the difficulty that the presumptive Democratic nominee, the current President of the United States, had just articulating his basic thoughts during the 90 minutes of the debate.”

He added that the attempts of those party apparatchiks to cover up the matter are Orwellian, telling his audience, “The spinning is all very reminiscent of the George Orwell quote from the book 1984. It’s relevant again today. ‘The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.’”

Concluding, Tapper vowed that he would be honest about things and to speak the truth about such matters, saying, “more willing to speak freely, honestly, and candidly about the candidate than the people running the Biden campaign, the people close to President Biden. And frankly, most Democratic officials across the country.”

Former President Trump, commenting on how the debate went, said, “Only three things could have been the reason that Crooked Joe Biden, the President in the history of the United States, failed so badly at the debate Thursday night. THEY WERE: 1) “TRUMP WAS REALLY GREAT!” In all fairnes and I say in complete and total modesty, many, on both sides of the politici spectrum, have said it was the greatest single debate performance in the l and storied history of Presidential Debates. Thank you! 2) CROOKED JOE “CHOKED” LIKE A DOG. 3) JOE IS A COGNITIVE MESS!”
