WATCH: Chicago Youth Football Program Kicked Out of Facilities to Make Room for Migrants, Residents Protest

Chicago has voted deep blue for decades and is finally facing the full suite of consequences attendant with that decision, namely out-of-control crime and, as comes with sanctuary city policies, a massive migrant wave far too large for the city to handle.

That migrant crisis in particular has drawn the outrage and scorn of residents, who are upset to see their lives deliriously affected by the huge tide of migrants washing into their city, with city leaders doing seemingly nothing to deal with the situation.

Now that fury from blue-voting Chicagoans has found another aspect of the migrant crisis to latch onto, as a local youth football program is getting booted from its neighborhood facility so that migrants who have washed up to Chicago can use the facility.

Local Chicago news outlet WGNTV reported that the team involved is the Windy City Dolphins Youth Football Team and it has been a fixture of the West Side community for about three decades now, but it is being kicked out of its field house in Chicago’s Amundsen Park, which is being converted into a migrant shelter.

The coach of the Dolphins, Darryl Adams, noted that the decision could prove disastrous for the young men on his team, who could end up getting involved in gang activity if they don’t have football to focus on. He said, “This is all we have. I’m not sure if it’s going to displace our kids … lose kids to the streets.”

Similarly, area resident Michella Zapluch said, “We are not anti-migrants at all. However, we have to put our kids first, and the mayor has to figure out another solution [because] taking our community is just not one of them.”

A video posted to X (formerly Twitter) purported to show residents protesting the football program’s fate, with the account that drew attention to it saying, “🚨 BREAKING: This Chicago youth football program is being kicked out of their neighborhood field house so it can become a migrant shelter on Monday. The players and over 600 residents showed up to protest. Do you support them?”

Commenting on the video, one person said that it is good to see Chicagoans waking up to what is going on and protesting, but that they need to remember their anger in election season if anything is to change: “I’m actually really proud of Chicago residents. They’re getting organized and realizing what’s it’s like to harvest that energy into something positive. I just hope they remember these lessons come November. NYC and LA should be taking notes.” Another said, “If the residents at the protest didn’t vote for Chicago’s sanctuary city candidates, then yes, they have my full support. Otherwise, you get what you ask for.”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, commenting on the migrant situation, recently said, “The weight and the burden of this sacrifice has been on Chicagoans. And I’m hearing loud clear from our Black residents in particular, that they have high expectations — as they should.” Watch it here:
