Reacting to disengenuous arguments from the woke Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, Border Patrol El Centro Sector Chief Gregory Bovin reaffirmed ICBP’s mission to keep America safe. During his confident rebuke, Bovin explained that, “I don’t work for Karen Bass,” and Democrats, “Better get used to us.”
For context, since June 7, 2025, responding to sweeping ICE and CBP raids across the state of California, riots have erupted in Los Angeles. Cynical Democrats, such as Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom, have sided with the riots and attempted to use the situation to promote their own cynical goals. Undeterred by the opposition, ICE, with the full support of the Trump government, has vowed to restore order to the city.
Reacting to the dangerous riots, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass released a statement on X condemning ICE agents for apprehending illegal immigrant criminals. She claimed, “This morning, we received reports of federal immigration enforcement actions in multiple locations in Los Angeles. As Mayor of a proud city of immigrants, who contribute to our city in so many ways, I am deeply angered by what has taken place.”
Continuing her woke screed, Mayor Bass argued that by arresting dangerous criminals, ICE and CBP were attempting to “sow terror in our communities and disrupt the basic principles of safety in our city,” adding, “My Office is in close coordination with immigrant rights community organizations. We will not stand for this.”
Reacting to heinous remarks by LA mayor Karen Bass, Border Patrol El Centro Sector Chief Gregory Bovin promised, “The federal government is not leaving LA I don’t work for Karen Bass. The federal government doesn’t work for Karen Bass. We’re going to be here till that mission is accomplished, as I said, and better get used to us now, because this is going to be normal very soon.”
As we reported, Vice President JD Vance joined in with his condemnation of the woke LA mayor. The vice president said, “Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass have got to stop this craziness. Every single law enforcement officer I talked to today, every single one of them, said they feel like the local leadership — the mayor and the governor — are encouraging these far-left agitators. ”
Explaining Trump’s reaction, the VP described how federal law enforcement will not be superseded by woke ideologues. Vance said, “The president has a very simple proposal to everybody, in every city, every community, every town, whether big or small. If you enforce your own laws and if you protect federal law enforcement, we’re not going to send in the National Guard because it’s unnecessary.”

Concluding his epic rebuke, JD Vance described the situation as a tragedy, especially for ICE agents and their families, saying, “What I see here today is the great tragedy when a mayor and a governor encourage their citizens to harass and endanger the lives of our police officers and our law enforcement officers. It’s heartbreaking to see, and thank God we’ve got great people who are willing to persevere despite it.”
